Spring Brunch Ideas: Setting the Perfect Table

Welcome to the Blog today, Friends.
I’m so happy you’re here today to share a lovely spring brunch with me.
Yesterday, we joined some good friends for a matinee performance of Fiddler on the Roof, but before the show, we gathered at our house for brunch. It made for such a nice start to the day—good food, easy conversation, and time to catch up before heading out together.
The weather could not have been better. It was bright and sunny, and although it’s only March, the temperature climbed into the 80s. Thankfully, the humidity was low and there was a light breeze, so it felt comfortable rather than too warm.
All in all, it was a perfect day for a relaxed spring brunch with friends.

The table was set with a beautiful linen tablecloth in soft purples, yellows, blues, and whites. The simple pattern was quiet and soothing—just the right background for the rest of the setting.
I began the plate stack with a white charger bordered in raised vines around the edge. On top of that, I placed a Mikasa dinner plate that feels as though it was made especially for spring. The deep border is divided into sections, each one a small floral work of art.
The colors echoed those in the tablecloth, tying everything together beautifully. The plates truly evoked the feeling of blooming flowers and nature just beginning to burst forth.

Here’s a closer look at the dinner plates resting on the chargers. You can see how they’re absolutely filled with spring—soft pastel colors and delicate floral images that feel fresh and cheerful.
The salad/dessert plate is a favorite by Lenox called “Perle” It’s a simple white plate with gently scalloped edges and a raised vine pattern flowing around the border—quiet and elegant, and a lovely contrast to the more detailed dinner plate.
A soft pink napkin, held in a sweet bunny napkin ring, picks up the pink tones in the Mikasa plate and adds just a touch of whimsy to the setting.
The entire plate stack was composed of thrifted finds, which makes it all the more special.

Here’s a closer look at the china in the plate stack.

I used my favorite Wallace “bee” flatware in silver and gold, along with my Lenox crystal in the “Opal Innocence” pattern, to complete the place setting. I’ve had the crystal for a number of years now. I first discovered a few pieces at a local thrift store and was delighted to learn it was still a current pattern by Lenox. Over the past few years, I’ve added to the set here and there, which has made collecting it all the more enjoyable. It’s become a favorite, with its delicate etched vine pattern on each piece. The crystal has a light, graceful feel to it, and I especially love bringing it out in the warmer months—it just seems to suit the season so perfectly.

The centerpiece begins with one of my favorite crystal vases. I stepped outside and clipped a few stems from my snowball bush to bring indoors. They’re still in the bud stage, just beginning to open, and I love that vibrant green color at this point.
Soon, each of those buds will bloom into soft white petals, forming the full “snowball” shape that makes them so special.
I added a few white mums I had on hand, and together they created a simple spring floral centerpiece that feels fresh and full of promise for the season ahead.

Here’s an overhead look at the table—what do you think?
The soft floral pastels blend together so beautifully, creating a light and welcoming feel. The centerpiece adds that extra touch of spring, tying everything together in a simple and natural way.

I made artichoke, spinach, red pepper, and Swiss cheese omelettes, accompanied by slices of applewood bacon and buttermilk biscuits. We started the meal with mimosas and finished with a cheesecake garnished with strawberries and blueberries.
Brunch was enjoyed by all.
Thank you so much for joining me today. It’s always a pleasure to share these moments with you.
See you next time.
