When you’re a child she walks before you

To set an example.

When you’re a teenager she walks behind you

To be there should you need her.

When you’re an adult she walks beside you

So that as two friends you can enjoy life together.

In the tapestry of our lives, being a mother is the brightest, most vibrant thread. Every day, we try to weave love and laughter into the fabric of our family’s world, creating a home that’s as warm and inviting as a cozy blanket on a chilly day. Our children are the heartbeats of our lives, filling each moment with joy and wonder. We’re not just mothers; we’re masters of magic and mischief, turning ordinary days into extraordinary adventures with a sprinkle of love.

On Mother’s Day morning, the house is filled with anticipation. The table is set beautifully, with a crystal vase holding a delightful mix of peonies, yarrow, and dogwood from the garden. A pink damask tablecloth provides a lovely backdrop, topped with a delicate Battenberg lace table topper in white. It’s a simple yet elegant setting, perfect for celebrating a special member of the family.

Pretty china is chosen and set on a beautiful Italian, aqua, glass charger. The china is new to me and comes from two different sources. The first, the dinner plate, is from a local Thrift Store. The glass chargers are from another Thrift Store. The salad/dessert plates and the soup bowls and plates came from an Estate Sale. Finding these pieces was very special and I knew that they were perfect for Mother’s Day.

Warmth and elegance radiate from a Mother’s Day table set with care. The glass charger allowed the pink under cloth to softly shine through, adding a touch of color. Adorned with intricate floral designs, the English Coalport plates are delicate and so pretty. Each plate is a work of art, with four distinct floral sections coming together harmoniously. The Doulton China Company’s salad/dessert plates, soup bowls, and plates, part of a charming luncheon set, complete the ensemble with their timeless beauty. Together, these pieces create a welcoming and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a memorable celebration with Mom.

Sterling silver, “Rose Point” by Wallace, is a delicate carving of charming roses that go so well with the design of the plates. Honestly, Moms would be happy with plastic plates and cups but laying a pretty table , if you can, makes the day extra special.

Battenberg lace napkins set off the table topper, the delicate rose pattern in the silverware and the gorgeous floral patterning in the plates. They all work together to create a lovely whole.

Pairing an appropriate crystal pattern to complement the rest of the pieces was a pleasurable challenge. “Opal Innocence” by Lenox was the selection and I think it completed the place setting in wonderful fashion. All these pieces were chosen especially for this occasion…Mother’s Day.

The whole place setting comes together and the colors blend beautifully. The flowers in their shades of pink and yellow bring all the colors on the table together.

Here’s an overview of the table. I hope any Mother would happily sit at this table with family and enjoy her special day. To all Mothers I wish you a wonderful day with your family and those closest to you. Happy Mother’s Day!
