Welcome to the blog today, Friends. I’m so happy you’re here to share in some more holiday decorating. I am really paring down this year and keeping things much simpler. The entryway to the house is one of the areas that is normally decorated to the “nines”. LOL However, I decided not to purchase any new decorations this year and to use what I have on hand. I’m not pulling out every single wreath, garland and ornament. So the entryway reflects that sentiment.

On the table in front of the antique mirror is a simple, white, embroidered table runner. You can see Santa driving a train filled with toys for boys and girls. He is happily waving at passersby with a great big smile his face. The train is actually four pieces and is made by Radko. It is beautifully detailed and painted and makes a great statement when you enter the front door.

Here you can see all four of the pieces that make up the train. They are beautifully rendered and I love the detail taken with each different toy.

At the top of the mirror is a sparkly, crystal wreath that I’ve had for several years. It seemed a good idea to bring a little ice and snow to this Santa’s vignette. It’s so pretty when the light hits the crystal.

This tree sits at one side of the hall sideboard between two crystal candlesticks. It brings a little more snow to the scene.

At the opposite end is another simple evergreen tree this time wrapped in burlap.. You can see the whole display here. Very simple with just a few pieces but a nice happy beginning to the holidays.

The mirror reflects the train but also gives a view of the den/study opposite the hall. It is decorated for Christmas in the same red and white colors. You can see oriental rugs on the floors in reds, blues and golds. Great colors for the holiday season.

The hall vignette took about 5 minutes to set up. All of the pieces were already part of my holiday stash and it was a simple matter to pull them out of their storage bins and set them up here. Holiday decorating should always be this easy. LOL

    1. It’s a pleasure to decorate the entryway and welcome people into your home. This year I kept it nice and simple as so many unexpected things have happened in the last couple of months. Thanks for visiting and sharing and have a great week.

  2. Love the silvery, icy background look with the colorful train set. A very welcoming look to your entrance way.

  3. What a lovely way to greet your guests! We used to have the perfect front hallway for displaying things. The new house has a front hallway, but it’s a little different. I do go all out there and in most places in the house. I did have to make some decisions about what to put out and what to leave in storage. I love seeing what you’ve done!

    1. Thanks, Marsha, I’m continuing to work at simplifying my decor and therefore my storage requirements. It’s not easy to weed out cherished moments but the simpler look is worth the effort. Sounds like you are enjoying your new space. Thanks for stopping by and sharing. Have a great week.
