“Blossom by blossom the spring begins.” — Algernon Charles Swinburne

Whether the blossoms are on a beautiful teacup or in a crystal vase they herald the coming of Spring. I’m so glad you’re visiting today to see how Spring has appeared in the entryway. In the photo above you can see that beautiful pink and yellow roses, interspersed with carnations, anchor this homage to Spring.

“Spring work is going on with joyful enthusiasm.” — John Muir

Recently at the Thrift Store, I found this sweet little white wicker chair. It reminded me of a spring day on the porch with the soft breezes carrying floral scents to those lucky enough to enjoy the peace and tranquility. A cup of tea would make this absolutely perfect. The cup resting on the chair carries it’s own beautiful rose blossoms to be enjoyed as you relax with a quiet cup of tea.

“The flowers of late winter and early spring occupy places in our hearts well out of proportion to their size.” — Gertrude S. Wister

A recent Thrift Store find rests on a lovely book about cut flower garden bouquets. The pretty green watering can shaped like a purse is perfect for indoor watering.

“Spring unlocks the flowers to paint the laughing soil.” — Bishop Reginald Heber

Flowers are a gift and roses some of the most perfect blooms of all. The colorful combination of different colored roses makes for a beautiful display.

“Don’t wait for someone to bring you flowers. Plant your own garden and decorate your own soul.” — Luther Burbank

I love the way the pink in the books, the tea cup on the chair and the roses in the vase carry the color across the sideboard. The yellow table runner grounds the vignette with another Spring hue and reflects the yellow roses in the flower arrangement.

“It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold, when it is summer in the light and winter in the shade.” — Charles Dickens

Spring is almost here and the signs are preparing us for the joy to come.

  1. That is adorable! I love that little wicker chair; the whole entryway makes me think of spring.

  2. That little chair is so adorable just hanging out in the entryway. I love seeing what goodies I can find at the thrift store, I just wish we had a better selection when I see what others have found like yourself.

    1. Some areas do seem to have better Thrift Store items. I go to stores when we travel and there are a lot of differences. I couldn’t resist the chair and it came with a matching foot stool that I didn’t use in the vignette. Thanks for sharing.
