It’s Almost Summer…Table Setting

Welcome, Everyone, to the Blog today. I am so excited you are here and I can’t wait to share this glorious Summer Table with you. Summer is one of my favorite times of year. The gardens are blooming with colorful flowers and vegetables can be enjoyed fresh from the garden. Pour yourself a cup of your favorite beverage and relax as I share this lovely summer table setting put together just for you.

This table setting really starts with the flowers I picked from my garden. I put together small bouquets of golden yellow yarrow, orange yarrow, and beautiful purple hydrangea, displayed in tall mason jars. Each place setting has its own little nosegay of these pretty garden flowers.

The beautiful cut glass crystal glasses are by Waterford. Even though this is a simple summer supper I love serving wine in beautiful glasses on a lovely yellow damask tablecloth. Whatever food you choose to serve always tastes better in a pretty setting.

A rattan charger sets a warm foundation for a plate stack that’s a feast for the eyes. The Fitz and Floyd dinner plate, with its deep blue rim adorned with a garland of yellow vining flowers, feels like a welcoming embrace from a summer garden. The true delight, however, is the salad/dessert plate, a beloved summer favorite. Its sunny yellow border, adorned with flowering herbs, invites you to gather around and enjoy the season’s bounty. At the center of each plate, a cheerful pot of oregano blooms, a heartfelt nod to my herb garden where this favorite herb grows in abundance and flavors our meals. This table setting, full of vibrant colors and the warmth of the garden, invites everyone to sit, relax, and savor the joys of summer together.

I chose Wallace “Bee” flatware to accompany the plates in this setting. What says “Summer” more than buzzing bees. My garden is alight with these busy, industrious workers as they collect nectar for the hive and pollinate flowers as they go from plant to plant. The flatware is silver with gold accents and looks really lovely with the plate stack.

I set the table on the screened-in porch with the garden in the background. It’s a delightful place to have a meal. Checked napkins in the same colors as the dinner plate are held together by blue and yellow porcelain napkin rings.

Welcoming Summer with a table set on the porch, the garden as the background is a wonderful way to start the season.

Adding a simple summer supper of blue cheese burgers, corn-on-the-cob and salad completes the picture and makes for a delicious meal. Even the dinner colors match the plates. LOL How perfect is that? Thanks o much for joining me here today for a simple summer supper. It’s always great to get together.

So pretty!! Love those dishes!!
Hugs,
Deb

Your table is simply stunning, Lynne! I love how you pair items with such intent. I’m wondering, after reading so many of your posts, are you an English teacher at the college level? Your voice in your writing is just so beautiful! And, I love the yarrow. I had lots of it at our last home, and I’m trying to find some for the new one.
