Thrifted Christmas Gifts and Keepers

Welcome, everyone, to the blog today!
I’m so glad you’re here because I’ve got some fantastic thrifted finds to share—perfect for gifting or adding a special touch to your home decor. Christmas shopping can sometimes feel like a bit of a challenge as we search for those just-right gifts that bring joy to our loved ones without stretching the budget too far.
That’s where estate sales and thrift stores come to the rescue! These treasure troves are brimming with unique and beautiful items that won’t break the bank, and today, I’m excited to show you some wonderful examples.
Whether you’re looking for something practical, whimsical, or just plain charming, there’s a little bit of everything here. So grab a cup of something warm, get cozy, and let’s dive in!

These first two pictures show an incredible find from this week, and I’m still smiling about it! Le Creuset cookware is always on my radar when I’m thrifting or exploring estate sales. This exceptional cookware makes it so easy to create delicious, comforting meals. Made of cast iron covered in enamel, it provides even heat for roasting or braising, handles temperatures up to 500 degrees, and is a breeze to clean. I already have a few Le Creuset pieces that I use all the time, but this one is extra special—a stunning, lidded 5-quart brasier pot in perfect condition! Normally, this beauty would sell for $414 on Prime, but I snagged it for just $40. I couldn’t believe my luck—especially since another lady had just walked away from it. She was coming back for a second look, but by then, it was already in my hands!
If you’re a fan of thrifting or estate sales, here’s a golden rule: if you see something you love, grab it right away! You can always put it back later if you change your mind, but you don’t want to miss your chance. I couldn’t wait to scoop up this amazing find, and it’s brought me so much joy. I’m already dreaming up all the wonderful meals it will help me create!

Another thing I always look for is journals. Being a family of writers, I love including a journal in our stockings every year. Sometimes they’re practical, and other times they’re just plain fun—like this one! It was made by a local artist, and at just $1, it went straight into my basket. The beading on it is so lovely, and since I have a soft spot for owls, it feels extra special. It’s such a perfect little gift, and I can’t wait to see it brighten someone’s holiday!

I came across this beautiful white coffee pot in the French Country pattern by Mikasa. Earlier in the week, I had the good fortune to find a set of four water goblets in the same Country French pattern, also by Mikasa. It felt like such a lucky find, especially since together the coffee pot and goblets cost under $10! The glasses are wonderfully heavy, which I love—they’re perfect for iced tea, a fruity holiday drink, or just a chilled glass of water. I always appreciate goblets with a bit of weight to them; they feel sturdier, are less likely to chip, and are far less likely to tip over. These will be such a lovely addition to my collection or will make a wonderful gift.

This stunning glass wreath was another treasure I discovered at a thrift store this week. It’s already hanging in the dining room, beautifully displayed over the French mirror. When you look closely, you can see the intricate clusters of individual glass pieces that make up the wreath—it’s such a lovely detail. At 24 inches in diameter, it’s a great size and makes a real statement. All it needed was a gold bow to finish it off!
The wreath came wrapped in a rather messy string of battery-powered fiber optic white lights. It seemed no one wanted to bother untangling them, but I didn’t mind taking the time. In the end, I ended up with this gorgeous wreath and a string of lights, all for just $3.99! While researching the wreath, I found a similar 20-inch version online selling for $70. I actually have a 20-inch one from a few years ago, also a thrift find, which now hangs in my front hallway. These wreaths are so elegant—they remind me of branches delicately covered in ice after a winter storm.

I stumbled upon this beautiful Sadler teapot made in England, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the find! It’s called Country Life and features charming English pastoral scenes all around the base. The teapot looks as though it’s never been used—no chips, cracks, or discoloration at all. Even the handle and spout are adorned with lovely country flowers. It’s just so pretty, and I know I’ll either love using it myself or gift it to a dear friend who will appreciate its beauty just as much.

At a local thrift store these Galway crystal glasses were waiting for me to find. The labels are still on the glasses. They had four in perfect condition so they came home with me. They would make a lovely gift for someone who loves setting pretty table or coupled with a nice bottle of wine.

That same day at a different thrift store I found these four golden Fostoria glasses. I love the fluted goblets and the tiered base. They will look wonderful with many of the dishes that I have. They were about $1.50 each.

These beautiful Wallace silver-plated tree napkin holders will fit right in with my Christmas table settings. They were four for $3.00. A good buy. These would also make a great gift especially if you included some pretty napkins.

Finally, we have this stunning crystal Italian-made glass tree, hand-blown in Venice, Italy. This year, I’m using it as part of our Advent Calendar tradition. Every day, we hang a new advent ornament on the tree after removing a place-saving ornament. By Christmas Eve, all 24 ornaments will be hanging, creating a beautiful display. The tree sits on a thrifted silver tray in front of a wreath I made a few years ago. The Advent Calendar has always been a special tradition in our home, counting down the days until the celebration of Christmas.
Thrifting and estate sales can truly offer exceptional gifts for your loved ones. With a little love and care, you can package each gift in a pretty box, wrap it in sparkling paper, and finish it with a handmade bow—what a wonderful surprise for someone special! Plus, you’ll still have money left for Christmas dinner. LOL
Happy Holidays!

Lynne, you found some amazing things, but that hand-blown glass tree is just stunning! And, that Le Creuset pot is beautiful! I’ve thought about buying some of that in the past, but I really like my copper bottom pots. Thanks for sharing all these wonderful finds!

Thanks, Marsha, I was really excited about the tree and it works perfectly in that space. My daughter swears by copper pots and uses them all the time. I like the heftiness of Le Creuset for cooking but they are hard to lift. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week.

Vintage items can see new life. I have gifted, repurposed vintage glassware to two special nieces. The first was given a depression glass cookie or ‘dainty’ treat holder in pale pink. I included a bracelet placed around the centre elevated handle, so she would see it’s new use. The second, received a divided pickle tray in cornflower crystal to hold rings or coins. I have been using an elevated cake stand as a bedside repository for reading glasses, lip balm ans such bedside neccesities for many years now. Oh, how I enjoy your posts on your finds. Kim
Thanks, Kim, you have two lucky nieces. Finding special items for friends and family is a real pleasure. Giving beautiful things to others is a real gift. Thanks for stopping by and have a very merry holiday season.

These are some beautiful finds. That owl journal makes me think about all of my 5D painting projects I’ve done.
I haven’t done estate sales, but I have considered it several times.

Another buying bonanza, Lynne!!!! It’s all fabulous. Love that tree. When we moved I sold my ‘used’ Le Creuset in the original flame color. I took possession of my mother’s nearly new stash in various shades of blues/greens/violets. Yay!
Sounds like you really lucked out with your Mom’s Le Creuset cookware. I love using it as the heat is so even and lasting. Thanks for sharing.
