Thrifting for the Kitchen

It’s a rather chilly day outside so I’m delighted to welcome you indoors to share in thisThrift Store Adventure that highlights some kitchen finds. Welcome, Friends, I’m so glad you’re here to explore these finds with me.

Sometimes a “Theme” seems to develop when you’re thrifting and today’s visits seemed to center around the kitchen.

I don’t often buy pots and pans at the Thrift Store. That’s mostly because it’s hard to find pans in good condition that have been gently used. Today I was really fortunate to find this really nice 8″ skillet by Cuisinart in stainless steel. Most of my pans are stainless steel and I find them easy to cook with. This skillet sells for about $23 and I was able to purchase it for $3.75. A pretty good deal.

The second pan is a 10″ skillet selling for $40 but I was able to buy this one for $4.75. I thought that was a pretty good price for a skillet that had hardly been used. It was also by Cuisinart.

Lastly, this 3 quart pan with cover goes for about $60 and I purchased this one for $6.00. These pans were all in excellent condition and you can see from the pictures that they had been treated well in their former homes.

At the same store I found these very nice placemats in grays and white tones. They had no spots or discolorations and were in excellent condition. I was able to purchase four of them for $.75 each. Not too bad.

The last purchase of the day from a second shop was a set of dark gray, rimmed plates. I was able to find four dinner plates and four salad/dessert plates. These look brand new. There are no knife marks, chips or cracks in any of the plates. I’ve been looking for a nice neutral, very plain, set of dishes and these were perfect. The pattern is “Tilley” by Project 62. They sold for about $2 per plate. I used the plates here:

I was really pleased that the placemats from one store went really well with the dishes from the second store. I’ll have to do a table eating where the two are paired together.

It turned out to be a very successful day of thrifting for the kitchen. Hope your next thrifting adventure is a good one.
