Great Charcuterie and Pumpkin Pie

Welcome Friends to the Blog today. I’m so glad you stopped by. Thanksgiving is over and I hope you enjoyed your day as much as we did. I want to share with you two of the food items we had on that day. You can see from the picture above a diverse selection of foods on this wonderful Charcuterie tray my daughter put together.
Some of the items were a bit unexpected and made for a very colorful presentation and a great mix of flavors. Shown above are some great heirloom carrots in multiple colors that paired well with the yogurt dip that accompanied the fruits and vegetables. The tray held persimmons and oranges soaked in honey and syrup then dipped in bittersweet chocolate and frozen before serving. They were really delicious. Cucumbers, red peppers, fresh basil, two different kinds of crackers and Pomegranate that was peeled and sectioned into small pieces were some of the many choices.

Boursin herbal cheese, my favorite soft cheese, was perfect with the crackers and we enjoyed some celery and selections of black and green olives to add a tangy flavor to the offerings. The food was served on a thick vintage cutting board my daughter found on an outing to a vintage market fair.

It was a lovely way to start a wonderful meal. The charcuterie board was accompanied by a French Champagne that we all enjoyed with the food.

My contribution to the meal was dessert and I made a pumpkin pie from scratch that turned out really well. I served it with homemade whipped cream. The deep dish pie was a great way to finish off the meal. I also made a dark chocolate cake with chocolate butter cream icing but I forgot to take a picture. It was delicious and my daughter’s favorite.
A good time was had by all the guests. Even the dog had some turkey and his favorite whipped cream. It was a lovely way to begin the holiday season…good company and a lovely meal are hard to beat.

I really like all the healthy options you used on this board.
Thanks, Bernadette, if its pretty and healthy, it seems like people really enjoy sampling the food. Thanks for stopping by and sharing. Have a lovely week.

Both look so delicious! I completely forgot to take any photos of our food or our day… I don’t think I have remembered once in nearly 20+ years.
Thanks, Joanne, I absolutely understand the photo “thing”. those were thee only pictures I took. The rest of the meal, including the gorgeous turkey, was eaten…not viewed. LOL. Have a great week.

Your daughter did a lovely charcuterie board – love those pomegranets too! And that pie – Mmmmmmmmm! So glad you had a great celebration Lynne. Here’s to the rest of Holiday 2023!
Thanks, Barbara, enjoyed visiting your site and seeing your latest table setting. Hope you had a wonderful celebration. Looking forward to the rest of the holiday season. Have a great week.

The charcuterie board choices looks very colorful and tasty. The homemade pie looks delicious too. Sounds like you had a great day. As much as I love turkey, I could make a meal out of appetizers and desserts.
The appetizers and dessert are the highlights of the meal…the start and the finish. My daughter did a wonderful job and we had a great celebration. Hope you did too. Thanks so much for visiting and sharing. Have a wonderful week.

What a beautiful board. I am fighting off diverticulutis with a bland diet (yogurt for breakfast and rice cakes for lunch with a bland supper) and that board tempted my poor appetite! The colors alone were artwork! Hope you had a lovely family time together!
It was very pretty, Kathy. So sorry you’re ill and hope you recover quickly. Wishing you a healthy and happy week ahead. thanks for stopping by and sharing.

What a gorgeous charcuterie board! I have never had pomegranates or persimmons, but I’m really curious about them. I am thinking about doing a baked cheese (brie, maybe) with some kind of compote or jelly (cranberry, cherry) for Christmas. It will shock my family because I’m not known for my cooking! We had a lovely dinner. I made a pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting and my Aunt Lou’s delights which are a take on a no-bake cheesecake.
Have a wonderful week, and I hope you’ll join me for link ups on Monday and Thursday!

Sounds like you had a lovely and delicious celebration. I love serving baked brie and it is usually gone in a short time. My favorite is baked brie and apricot. I love it when I get to taste recipes that have passed down through the family. Aunt Lou’s delights sound yummy. Thanks for stopping by and sharing. See you Thursday.
