Merry Christmas everyone and happy holidays. Christmas is only a few days away. Can you believe how quickly it has come? Today I’m setting a simple table using The Christmas Tree pattern by Spode. It’s an extremely popular pattern and used by many families around the holidays. Welcome, Friends, I’m so happy you’re here today to join me for a holiday tablescape using this very popular Spode pattern.

A few years ago I found a set of 12 place settings of Spode china on Marketplace and I have added to it since then. I love to bring this set out for the holidays.

When you look at this iconic china you can see the lovely depiction of a decorated Christmas Tree with presents gathered at the base. The colors are reds, greens and golds and the scene is a charming presentation. There are lots of imitations on the market but only Spode has the Santa at the top of the tree. He is on every Spode Christmas Tree major piece.

This plate stack begins with a beautiful red and gold, glass charger. These were a Thrift Store purchase several years ago and are really lovely. The gold vines cover the outer rim and the base of the charger. Next we have a dinner plate in the Christmas Tree pattern by Spode. Separating the Spode dinner plate and Spode small plate is a Fitz & Floyd Yuletide Holiday salad/dessert plate. These are quite wonderful and boast a green and gold bow with evergreen branches and berries. The rim is a raised red scroll pattern with a gold beaded outer rim design. The greens, reds and golds on all the plates compliment one another in a festive setting.

Spode Christmas Tree flatware is paired with the china. You can see the Santa at the top of the tree indicating a Spode product. The flatware is also stamped Spode. The Christmas tree motif is on both sides of many pieces of flatware. The flatware goes with almost any Christmas china pattern so I use it a lot throughout the holidays.

This was the set I found at Goodwill. The box was included and stores everything beautifully. There are a number of serving pieces in the flatware pattern and additional pieces in a different display of the Spode pattern. It includes steak knives, fish forks, bread and butter knives as well as the usual place setting pieces.

A simple centerpiece of pine cuttings in a red bowl decorated in white snowflakes sits on the white tablecloth.

Beautiful crystal glasses work with the rest of the pieces on the table. The wine glass has a lovely etched pattern that offsets the lovely flared water glass.

A matching Spode, Christmas Tree, napkin rests in the water goblet ready for each guest to use. The Santa is pictured prominently at the top of the tree.

Here’s an overall view of the table. The table is uncluttered and simple showcasing the china and the colors of Christmas. You can see the gallery wall in the background adding subtle touches of red to pull the room together. Overhead crystal snowflakes and icicles float from the chandelier.
