Setting a Table with Chocolate Brown

This is my first brown tablecloth and I was a little hesitant to put a table setting together. It’s out of my comfort zone. However, I found the tablecloth at the Thrift Store and decided to give it a try. As you can see the tablecloth has a lovely scrolled design giving it some interest. Welcome, Friends, to the Blog today as I venture into unknown tablescaping territory.

The tablecloth was actually a perfect size. It doesn’t hang down too far which drives my Hubby a little crazy. This length is much better. The chocolate brown goes nicely with the cream chair covers.

This view faces the back garden. You can see the Halloween decorations are still adorning the windows.

The centerpiece is a simple cut glass vase holding Fall colored spray roses. Love the colors of these roses.

I have these rooster plates in a couple of patterns and they go quite well with the chocolate background. I like the polka dots that seem to add a happy feel to the plates.

The charger is metal adding a bit of sparkle to the setting.

The dinner plates are by Wedgewood and have a beautiful raised border. I use these plates quite frequently as they are so pretty.

The crystal is quite simple and modern looking. The lines are clean with little embellishment and fit the rest of the place setting.

I used my Mother-in-laws flatware…such a pretty pattern and simple cream, linen napkins held by a wrought iron napkin ring embellished with a tan circle.

I think my venture into the realm of chocolate brown turned out pretty well. As always most things on the table are thrifted. It’s fun to step out of your comfort zone and try new colors and new settings. Have a great week.
