Easter is just around the corner and I’ve set the table with bunnies dressed in their best to welcome guests for a special dining experience. Let’s get things started. I set my table this year in our formal dining room. The room is dressed for Easter with displays of bunnies and bunny dishes in the china cabinet and on the table. Come in and visit for awhile.

This table setting begins and ends with black and white. A damask tablecloth covers the table and lays the foundation for the tablescape. I love the subtle design in the tablecloth that adds a bit of interest to the overall look. Two different chargers were used to anchor the plate stack. At the head and foot of the table I used black chargers and white chargers are used on each side place setting. The plates are black and white and feature Easter eggs and bunnies romping amongst grass and flowers. I found these plates at TJ Maxx a couple of years ago. They are quite fun and add a sense of whimsy to the table.

The chargers are by Homer Laughlin and are simple white, or white with a wide black rim. The dinner plates and salad plates are by Coco + Lola. I used two different patterns and alternated them around the table. One plate shows a variety of decorated eggs and the other plate has bunnies hoping amidst flowers and grasses. A simple white plate with a beaded rim from Portugal separates the dinner and salad plates.

The center of the table has a sweet runner composed of black and white bunnies with lovely little cotton tails. More white bunnies with black and white flowered collars, munching contentedly on black and white carrots, are set around the runner. A gathering of flowers in a shabby chic white metal planter lined with moss sits in the center of the table. The flowers provide the pop of color drawing the eye to the center of the table.

Here is a side view. You can see the intricacies of the metal planter lined with moss. A precious little white bunny is wearing his special flowered collar with black and white ribbons. He looks right at home on the table runner.

Silver-plate in a flare pattern is used for the flatware. This is one of my favorite patterns…..it’s simple and a bit “Art Deco” in style. The black and white theme pairs well with this silver pattern.

My favorite Vera Wang crystal is used here. The lines of the crystal goblets are simple and refined and the pattern is not overwhelming. Love how the light reflects in the crystal and is spread around the whole table.

I didn’t have napkin rings that I liked for this particular table theme so I made some simple ones from some thrift store finds. Some wire wrapped in greenery forms the napkin ring. Attached to that is a small bundle of flowers and greenery. Then a black and white ribbon is added to tie the napkin ring to the rest of the table. Simple white embroidered napkins were used to complete the setting.

The napkins and napkin rings sit at the side of the dessert plate with a sweet treat added to the plate.

Bunnies peak out from behind the planter as you look down the table.

Across the table you can see the hutch decorated with more bunnies and bunny plates. The white theme is carried to the china cabinet as well and pulls the table and cabinet together in the room.

I love how the flowers provide that shot of color that keeps the table from being too monochromatic.

Flowers and Easter eggs in similar colors reside on the tea cart as well carrying the color around the room and up into the painting on the wall.

I really enjoyed putting this tablescape together. Everything was thrifted except the bunny plates and it was a pleasure making collars for the bunnies and napkin rings for the table. Everything was thrifted other than the bunny plates on the table. Thanks for joining me for this Spring table setting.
