Welcome to the Blog today, Friends, as I share with you this sweet little tablescape based on the Santa centerpiece above. Santa looks so jolly as he gets ready to drive his sleigh. The reindeer are excited to be on their way delivering gifts to good little boys and girls and maybe some pretty good adults, too.

Here’s a better look at these little reindeer and their nice wooly coats.

The tablescape is in typical red and green Christmas colors. Its always fun to prepare a place setting using some great plaids. This table decor might be appropriate for a children’s table or for adults that are “young at heart”.

The plate stack sits on a large rattan mat in red. The dinner plates are from the Norman Rockwell collection and depict illustrations that appeared in “The Saturday Evening Post”. The dessert plates express the holiday spirit and are followed by bread and butter square plates in a third plaid. No special makers for the last two plates.

I paired the plaids with some holiday water goblets decorated in holly and berries. Green English mugs will hold hot cocoa. The mugs are originally designed to hold breakfast milk. Love how their green color fits in.

Red and green mittens hold flatware with a nice poinsettia pattern on the handles.

The other side of the plate is for the napkins and fourth plaid. They are held in a Christmas Tree napkin ring.

The top of the plate stack shows this little ornament favor encouraging the guests to believe in the magic of Santa and his reindeer.

“Believe” is echoed on the sign on the wall across from the table. Christmas is a time for belief in things beyond ourselves. Little ones during the holidays make magic a little easier to find. Create a little light-heated magic at your house with a child-friendly tablescape and a little Santa fun.
