Welcome to a simple Fall tablescape. Happy you’re here. Like many of you, I’ve been sorting through closets and drawers since the pandemic started. Found this blue tablecloth that I’d forgotten I had. Decided to see if I could come up with some things to go with it by shopping my house.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

I didn’t have a runner that would work so decided to make one from some burlap. I viewed a tutorial online to create the one above. I loved the long fringe so decided to give it a try. I think it turned out pretty well.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

I made a couple of cross pieces so I wouldn’t have to use place mats. It works.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Next I added some dried hydrangea from the garden to a Lenox vase I was gifted years ago. The little thrifted wooden train is very sweet. Fall always makes me think of travel and I wondered where this train had been.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

I found the metal pine cone candle holders at Goodwill. The pottery water and wine glasses are from the Annapolis Pottery in Maryland. The wine glass has a rim of light blue around the top. The soup bowls are from that same pottery. The napkins are linen and have an interesting edge. They were also from a thrift store as was the Roger’s “Remembrance” silver plate. The napkin rings are pearl circles, also thrifted.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

This is a better picture of the glass plates with blue shot through the glass. The blue color shows up well against the burlap runner. I loved how this turned out. Really simple and quick.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Then I decided to simplify the simple setting by making just a few changes. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

As you can see above I removed the cross burlap runners but left the one running down the center of the table. I swapped out the glass plates and soup bowls for Mikassa’s “Flower Basket White” dinner plates. They were layered with a top plate with a beautiful bird drawing and a leaf motif border. These are Havilland plates and I have 12. Each has a different bird depicted. I found these at a thrift store for just a few dollars for all 12. I think they are beautiful and really lend themselves to Fall as well as to a bit of blue.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

This tablescape is really uncluttered and serene inviting you to sit down and enjoy the view as you dine. Perfect for an outdoor fall evening.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
