Meal planning and preparation takes center stage once again, and it is so nice to have a few recipes in your collection that are quick and easy and can even be prepared ahead of time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When life gets busy, having a simple meal ready to go can make the evening feel a little less hectic. But even when dinner is quick and easy, I still enjoy setting a pretty place at the table. It doesn’t have to be elaborate or take a lot of time. A few colorful dishes, a pretty napkin, and some thrifted treasures can turn an everyday meal into something that feels a little more special.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Using thrifted pieces makes setting the table both easy and budget-friendly. I love mixing things I’ve collected over the years and finding new combinations that work beautifully together. So, let’s take a look at an easy recipe that comes together quickly and makes for a wonderfully colorful fall meal\u2014and then we’ll set a pretty table to enjoy it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This place setting starts with a wonderful thrifted china find in Mikasa\u2019s Cajon Belle Terre<\/em> pattern. The pattern seems made for the fall season, with ripe pears, berries, and walnuts scattered around the rim of the plate. The pretty scalloped edge adds another lovely detail and contributes to the soft, welcoming look of the china.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The colors are definitely autumn hues, but they are presented in such lovely, muted tones that the overall effect is gentle rather than overly seasonal. I think that is one of the things I enjoy most about this pattern\u2014it brings fall to the table in a subtle and elegant way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dinner plate and pasta bowl sit on a yellow woven placemat, which adds a bit of texture and another warm fall color to the setting. It gives the china a nice foundation while keeping the overall look casual enough for a quick meal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the flatware, I chose Fiddlehead stainless. I\u2019ve had this pattern for many years and still love the way it looks on the table. And, of course, the bright red salsa adds a wonderful pop of color! Against all those soft autumn tones, the red really catches the eye and brings a bit of cheerful energy to the table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The colors complement the china beautifully while adding a natural element to the table. I love using flowers from the garden whenever I can, and dried hydrangeas are especially nice because they can be enjoyed long after the growing season has ended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It doesn’t take a lot to create a pretty centerpiece. A simple arrangement of flowers you already have can be just the thing to pull all the colors together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, no Mexican meal would be complete without a margarita! My husband made these colorful drinks, and we served them in a collection of multicolored glasses. I love how the drinks themselves become part of the table d\u00e9cor. With all of these colors working together, the table feels cheerful and festive without becoming too busy. It\u2019s a wonderful setting for a quick meal, and I think we\u2019re ready to sit down and enjoy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
