As the holiday season unfolds, I wish each of you a Christmas filled with warmth, peace, and those quiet moments that make this time of year so special. I\u2019ll be taking a short holiday break and will be back on Friday, January 2, 2026<\/strong>, ready to share all things thrifting with you once again. I hope you\u2019ll join me then as we step into a brand-new year together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, though, we\u2019re ending this blogging year in a very fitting way\u2014with a Christmas thrifting post. This time of year offers some of the very best thrift store sales, especially when it comes to Christmas d\u00e9cor. Pre-Christmas markdowns are a wonderful opportunity to stock up on ornaments, wreaths, garlands, and Christmas linens that can be tucked away and enjoyed for years to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the photo above, you can see one of my most recent finds\u2014discovered just yesterday, in fact. I stopped by one of my favorite shops in Hendersonville, North Carolina, where Christmas items were marked 50% off<\/strong>. This beautiful Lenox ornament immediately caught my eye. I love its classic ball shape and the sweet scene of Santa hanging a wreath, quietly preparing for Christmas. It\u2019s such a timeless piece, full of charm and gentle nostalgia\u2014exactly the kind of ornament I\u2019m always hoping to find.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These little discoveries are part of what makes thrifting at Christmas so joyful. Each piece tells a story, and each one feels like a small gift waiting to be rediscovered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three more ornaments made their way into my basket, and I was practically dancing all the way to the checkout. The first and third ornaments are from Waterford Crystal\u2019s The Twelve Days of Christmas<\/em> series<\/strong>, and I couldn\u2019t believe my luck when I spotted them. This year, my tree was decorated entirely with Waterford Crystal and Lenox ornaments, so these beauties fit right in as though they had always belonged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The middle ornament was another lovely Lenox piece, one that quietly celebrates both the closing of the year and the promise of a new one just beginning. I love ornaments that mark time and memory like that\u2014they feel especially meaningful at Christmas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As soon as I arrived home, all three went straight onto the tree to join the ornaments we\u2019ve collected and cherished over the years. Finding pieces like these\u2014timeless, beautiful, and so perfectly suited to our Christmas traditions\u2014always feels like such a gift. These truly were a super<\/em> find.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s a wonderful time of year to collect red pieces of pottery or porcelain. This double-handled vase made in Portugal immediately caught my eye. I love the fluted edge and those graceful double handles\u2014they give it such a classic, old-world feel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The color is undeniably Christmas red, but it\u2019s also versatile enough to use beyond the holidays. I can easily picture it in a country setting or as part of a farmhouse tablescape, filled with simple greenery or even fresh flowers in warmer months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It took two good washings to get this piece clean and sparkling again, but it was well worth the effort\u2014especially since it only cost a couple of dollars. Bringing a thrifted piece back to life like this is part of the joy, and this one feels like a little treasure rescued and ready for many seasons to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These wooden decorative plates were waiting for me at another shop, and they instantly spoke to my love of country and farmhouse style. I\u2019m drawn to their simple, honest designs\u2014the sweet tree with lights and a star, and the pine wreath dotted with berries and stars that circles the edge of the plate. The deep brown background sets everything off so beautifully, giving them a warm, rustic presence that feels right at home during the Christmas season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There were a few other things that caught my eye as well, but I decided to wait and see what the after-Christmas sales might bring. Often those same items will be marked down 75%, and waiting can be part of the fun. That\u2019s one of the great joys of thrifting\u2014you learn to be patient, and you\u2019re often rewarded with quality pieces at prices far below retail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
