Fresh flowers and a beautiful blue and deep yellow flowered table runner just “screams” French Country to me. I found the runner at a Thrift Store last week and couldn’t;t wait to create a tablescape with the runner as the base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flower centerpiece and runner are set on a deep blue tablecloth. It really makes the colors “pop”. In a simple crystal pitcher a bouquet of coneflowers, zinnia, and Black-eyed Susans are gathered. The greens are all herbal and evoke the hot dry summers of Provence. Lemon verbena, basil and rosemary are included and, I have to say, they smell wonderful. French cooking utilizes a lot of fresh herbs so they feel right at home on this table. The crystal pitcher and the tablecloth were also thrifted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paired with the flowers and table runner are these lovely Fitz & Floyd plates. I knew when I first saw them that they would work perfectly with a French Country theme. I’ve had them for a couple of years and, of course, they were thrifted at very little cost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The salad\/dessert plates show luscious fruits, a different one on each plate. The colors are vibrant and deep. You can almost feel the juice running down your chin, if you were to take a bite. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I wanted to evoke a country feel, something less formal, so chose a simple rattan charger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paired with the charger is Gourmet Settings “Montana”. It has a blackened handle that makes you think of an old-time forge and rustic flatware. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next are the crystal glasses that were chosen to round out the blue color running through the entire table setting. I couldn’t find the clear blue glass maker but the heavier speckled glass is Iris Slate Blue by Artland. The shape of the glasses is similar and so they go well together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The final piece of the place setting is the napkin and napkin ring. The deep yellow color of the napkin repeats the yellow in the table runner. The napkin ring is a blue ceramic outlined in yellow…French country colors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here you can see how all the colors and pieces come together. The exuberant color scheme makes you dream Summer dreams. Think of lying in a field on a blanket with a bottle of rich, red French wine and some delicious homemade bread and cheese. What could be better?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The garden in the window brings the outdoor feeling inside minus the mosquitoes. LOL. Everything on the table was thrifted. Who says you can’t set an elegant, themed table on a budget? Have a great week everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
