I chose a pottery vase from my favorite potter, Gary Huntoon, who sadly passed away a few weeks ago. He will be remembered for his talent, his love of teaching and his gentle ways. This is quite a tall vase and holds some very long-stemmed flowers. I didn’t want to cut them so left them the original length.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flowers are resting on the kitchen counter eating area in a wide expanse so they can be seen clearly from all directions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the photo above you can see that the light is just beginning to rest upon the upper blooms allowing for some blossoms to be highlighted and others to begin emerging from shadow into brightness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Darkness and light, shadow and illumination are part of all of us. Flowers caught in sunlight and shadow create illumination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rays of light shine brightly on some of the blossoms and create a beautiful image.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
