Add Fall to Your Kitchen in Two Easy Ways

It’s amazing how the little touches can make such a big difference in your decorating! A basket here, a picture there, or a small vignette can bring that perfect bit of seasonal cheer into your space. Welcome to the blog, everyone! Today, I’m excited to share a simple touch of fall that I’ve added to my kitchen.
In the picture above, you can see just how easy it is to sprinkle a bit of autumn color into your home. Start by gathering a few of your napkins that showcase those beautiful fall tones—think oranges, greens, reds, yellows, and some off-white neutrals. These colors will instantly bring a touch of fall to your kitchen, and it only takes a few minutes to pull together.
Next, choose a container that lets those colors shine, like a wire basket. Arrange the napkins, grouping similar colors together, and voilà! You’ve got a lovely display sitting on your counter, all ready to welcome autumn with open arms.

The next project is also a simple one. I found this really sweet little vine basket last year at the thrift store and couldn’t figure out quite how to use it. This year I decided to try to incorporate it into the kitchen with a little Autumn decor. I started with some dry foam in the base of the basket that would hold dried garden elements. The basket is small and I wanted to keep a casual feel for this little project.
The first thing added to the basket was alittle bit of greenery. These stems came from a 90% off sale at Hobby Lobby.

The stems were bound together into one large bunch so I unwound the binding and separated them into individual stalks. The individual stems worked really well and didn’t overwhelm the small basket.

I used three stems and then added these beautiful grass/wheat stems to the basket scattering them in a fan pattern to keep the uncluttered look that suits the grapevines. I didn’t want to add any additional upright elements but I needed to cover the green foam but…

…before figuring out how to cover the base I added a checked bow, in a casual pattern. The checked pattern in the bow adds a bit of interest to the arrangement without it becoming overwhelming.

The final touch…covering the green foam in the bottom of the basket with a handful of dried rose petal potpourri. This provided the needed coverage while keeping the basket light and adding a delicious rose fragrance to the space.

This simple, little basket was then hung in front of the antique bread board. The basket is fastened to the hanger with a little bit of twine. The dried plant material adds an end of summer touch to the display. This basket is casual and a little bit country the colors leading us gently into Fall. The kitchen is getting ready for the new season.
