Repurposed Flower Arrangement

Hello, Everyone, I’m so happy you’re joining me here today. I switched out the front entranceway decor from Spring to Summer with a few easy changes, some thrift store finds and a repurposed flower arrangement. Friendly, Freddie the Frog, is joining us in the front hall. Pour a cup of your favorite beverage and come meet us there.

This pretty, pastel colored, table runner was recently thrifted. After washing and pressing it looks really pretty and becomes the base for the entranceway vignette. The basic colors are off-white and beige with muted yellows, greens, purples and pinks found in the summer flowers and leaves displayed on the runner.

The next element added was a shabby chic pair of wooden candlesticks that were set on either side of the wall mirror. Variegated green candlesticks were chosen to bring in the green colors of summer. You can see Freddie relaxing at the base of the candlestick. He’s a pretty laid back kind of guy who enjoys just “hanging out”.

Here’s a close-up of Freddie. He’s been around for a while and shows a bit of age but likes to be part of the welcoming committee as guests enter the house.

A thrifted rattan tray comes next. It holds a repurposed flower arrangement from the “Independence Day” table setting that you can see here:
It looks really pretty added to the entranceway vignette. I tried adding additional elements to the tray but it just looked cluttered so I left the tray holding just the pottery vase and the oak leaf hydrangeas. The hydrangeas have the same muted colors as the tablerunner and the color of the rattan tray blends in nicely.

The entranceway mirror is an antique my husband brought back from Europe. A simple little watercolor painting from a trip to Quebec City one summer was added to the mirror. It picks up the roses in the flowers and in the runner as well as blending with the colors of the candles and candlestick holders. I love having lovely memories on display, don’t you?

Here’s the side view as you enter from the door. The mirror reflects the flowers and pictures on the opposite wall expanding the space. There are only five elements that make up this vignette and they all work together to create a cohesive whole.

On the left is the Spring entranceway and on the right the new summer entranceway. Just a few alterations make a complete seasonal change.

Thanks so much for joining me today as we “dressed” the entranceway for summer.

Your entry is very pretty. I like how your frog welcomes all your guests! So cute!
Thanks, Ricki, I have another one who prefers the garden outside the from door. His name is Stanley. He enjoys watching the people come and go.LOL. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week.

As always, your choices to gather things and make vignettes is always on point and beautiful. I also have a mirror in my entry and thought it would be pretty to hang something on it; but how in the world did you attach your painting to it? Is it sturdy? I love to change the look in my entryway also, so it would be nice to have the option of removing items from the mirror, too.
Thanks, Elena, I use Command strips made by 3M. They are removable hooks made for specific weights. I try not to hang anything too heavy on the hook but a small picture or a wreath is no problem. Good Luck and have a lovely week.

Thanks, Marsha, Freddy always likes to be the center of attention in a relaxed sort of way. LOL. My husband found the mirror in Europe years ago. It is one of his favorite finds. Have a lovely week.
