Summer Flower Table Setting

It’s such a pleasure to have you join me today! I’m excited to be setting my first summer table on this hot and sunny day. The garden is bursting with blooms, and I just picked my first sweet pepper. My china is both elegant and playful, with a scalloped border of pink and purple flowers. The rim has a fun, ornate geometric pattern, and two thin silver bands add a touch of sparkle, making the whole setting feel bright and cheerful.

This plate is an absolute delight, perfect for kicking off a vibrant summer! The floral bouquet in the center, bursting with pink and purple flowers tied with a charming ribbon, brings a splash of joy to any meal. The design, while elegantly formal, has a delightful, carefree vibe that’s perfect for sunny days. The white background makes the flowers pop, creating a stunning focal point for your table. Whether you’re hosting a cheerful brunch or a relaxed dinner, this plate is sure to make your table setting bloom with charm and fun!

I added some beautiful bowls by AKCAM a Turkish manufacturer of handmade goods. The colors are intense and variable with each bowl presenting a unique color experience. Purple, pink, green and orange bowls add a liveliness to the table setting and movement to the table as the light undulates in waves throughout the glass.

Silver plate was chosen for the simplicity of the pattern. The beautifully etched pieces add their floral motif to the table. Each piece is edged in a geometric design similar to the plates. The silver shines brightly and reflects the light in the surfaces of the flatware.

Beautiful crystal water and wine glasses complete the settings. The cut crystal has a beautiful pattern that also reflects the light. The goblets are heavy enough to feel secure on the table and comfortable in your hand. It’s a pleasure to drink from them.

A simple silver plated rose holds the napkin. The linencolors complement the placemats and the design.

Today, as I walked the gardens, I found that one of my hydrangea bushes was in full bloom with large purple blooms about the size of a saucer covering the bush. The hydrangea and daisies make a beautiful combination. The bouquet was the jumping off point to construct the table setting. The flowers are so gorgeous that you almost don’t need anything else on the table. They really take your breath away.

However, in this overhead photo of the complete table you can see how the flowers blend perfectly with the flowered placemats, the dishes, glasses and silverware. The tablescape is so pretty and fun it reminds me of summer days with all the time in the world to enjoy the sweet things of life. It’s amazing to me that everything on this table was thrifted. Such a pleasure to put the various pieces together into a lovely whole.
Thanks for allowing me to share this with you. You are always welcome at my table.

The overhead view of your table is absolutely gorgeous with the beautiful iridescent bowls that tie into the scalloped border of flowers on the china. Lovely placemats and your hydrangea blooms are the perfect color to star with your daisies. A beautiful salute to summer.
Thanks so much, Jan, it was a fun table to create and I was really inspired by the beautiful flowers. Thanks for sharing. Have a lovely week.

Those bowls are so unique! They work perfectly with the lovely plates. But, those hydrangeas!! Wow! My little bushes haven’t even put out any buds yet. That’s a little worrisome! Thanks for another beautiful post, Lynne!

Thanks, Marsha, I have to say that the hydrangeas have never been this large before. I guess we had the perfect conditions for this variety. Yours will bloom. Just give them a little extra water. That generally helps. thanks for visiting.
