Latest Thrift

Welcome to the Blog today, Friends. I’m so happy you’re here. It’s been a very busy week so far and I feel like I am constantly playing catch-up. So forgive me if this Blog is a little short. I’m sharing mostly linens today but I found some really nice ones. The picture above shows this sweet little bunny pillow in lovely pastel colors. I loved the little grey bunny tale at the bottom of the pillow. This will be wonderful for next Easter.

I found three wonderful tablecloths. the pictures don’t do them justice. The first is a black and white heavy linen with a black tassel on each corner connected by lines of black stitching. The middle one is a damask, yellow, round tablecloth. It’s a deeper yellow in real life. Finally this very fun yellow cloth dotted with multi-colored polka dots. The rolled hem picks up all the colors in the polka dots. Can’t wait to use these in table settings very soon.

This great tea towel comes from a place we visited. The embroidery was very nice and the tea towel was in great condition. Festive tea towels are such a nice addition to a kitchen.

Then I found these beautifully made linen napkins. They have some lovely tatting and are large, dinner sized napkins. They will look so pretty in a formal setting.

The final items are these really nice, weighted, balloon wine glasses. Each one is etched with a different pattern and I think they are from Mikasa. Balloon glasses always look impressive on the table and really can make a statement.
Thanks for joining me today. It’s always such a pleasure to share thrifting finds with you.

Linen, my favorite (but you already know this, lol). The rolled edge on the yellow tablecloth looks familiar, but I just can’t place where I’ve seen this pattern. The white/black one is a real find (especially if it was unstained!!!!) It will make a statement. I’m pretty sure I have napkins similar to yours, but I definitely have a table runner like it! I’ve liked balloon stemware, but I find that they are hard to pack and a bit taller than other goblets which is why I’ve never selected them.
Linen is definitely a fun item to collect, Robin. I think the yellow pattern has been around awhile. The white linen tablecloth was definitely a surprise. There is not a mark on it which, I agree, is unusual but definitely welcome. I’ve come to really enjoy the balloon glasses as it’s fun to aerate the wine in them by swirling and they are fun to drink from. When I use them on the table I just need my tallest water goblets. LOL. Thanks for sharing. Have a lovely week.

The light yellow damask tablecloth and the tatted linen napkins are beautiful finds. The tone on tone patterns of damask provide a lovely basis to any tablesetting. All the linens look in great condition.
The linens were in great condition, Jan, thanks. I agree that the subtle patterning of damask is a beautiful way to begin a table setting. Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely week.

Those tatted linen napkins look almost too pretty to use. And, the balloon wine glasses have such a fun pattern.

Thanks, Marsha, can’t wait to use the linens as they are truly beautiful. Can you imagine doing all the work by hand like they used to do? The glasses are quite fun to drink from. Makes the wine taste even better. LOL. Have a lovely week.

Those details and edges are so pretty. I just love those linen napkins. They remind me of some I inherited from my great-grandmother! Thanks for sharing this post with us at the Will Blog for Comments #37 linkup. We hope to see you next time at #38 sharing more posts. Have a great week.
