Bees, Flowers and Honey

I am so excited you are here today. Imagine stumbling upon a charming bee-themed tray at a thrift store, adorned with the heartwarming message, “There’s no place I’d rather Bee”. The saying is surrounded by whimsical bees flying about their business of collecting nectar for honey.. It seems like a perfect spring and summer base for a vignette on a tray.

Imagine a tray that welcomes you with the gentle buzz of busy bees, painted delicately on a white honeycomb background. Each bee seems to dance in the air, creating a scene that feels alive and full of charm. The inscription adds a touch of whimsy, inviting you to pause and savor the moment. The handles, with their aged metal finish, feel like a nod to the past, adding warmth and character to the tray’s design. It’s a piece that not only serves a practical purpose but also tells a story, making every use a delightful experience.

Imagine stepping into a garden where every corner bursts with life and color. The stoneware pitcher, lovingly filled with blooms from the garden, sits on the tray like a treasure trove of nature’s beauty. The Japanese Iris and chives, now in full bloom, offer a vibrant display of colors and scents, inviting you to pause and take in the moment. Among them, the snowballs add a touch of whimsy with their full, delicate blooms. The deep purple of the Iris petals feels like velvet to the touch, adorned with white centers that add a touch of elegance. Together, these blooms create a harmonious blend of colors and textures, bringing a piece of the garden’s charm indoors

This tray tells a story of warmth and indulgence, where every element invites you to savor the moment. The crystal jar of Eucalyptus Honey stands out as a beacon of sweetness, promising a delightful addition to your morning toast, tea, or English muffin. Its presence, alongside the crystal jam and biscuit jars, adds a touch of elegance and tradition to the scene. The scattered blossoms, a whimsical detail, seem to beckon the bees, adding a lively touch of nature to your setting. It’s a scene that invites you to start your day slowly, savoring each moment and flavor, creating a perfect beginning to any day.

Experimenting with the various elements available to photograph the vignette has been a lot of fun. I hope you enjoy the pictures right along with me. Here you can see the vignette highlighted and surrounded by a black background.

Capturing the vignette with blurred backgrounds and sparkling lights creates a wonderfully inviting atmosphere. The soft, dreamy effect of the blurred background and the gentle sparkle of lights dancing around the scene makes it feel like a moment frozen in time, full of warmth and beauty. Adding tea and toast to the tray completes the picture, making breakfast not just a meal but a special and cozy experience.
It would be lovely to have you here to share this with me in person but it’s wonderful having you visit with me on the Blog.

What a gorgeous vignette, Lynne! The tray is just perfect for your honey pot! Perhaps, you could do a post on how to get that black background? I think your photos are so striking when you do that!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Thanks, Marsha, I’ve been experimenting with a variety of photo types lately and it is a lot of fun. Sometimes you can get some pretty dramatic effects. I use an iPhone of all the photography for the Blog. That shot was taken in Portrait mode with “Natural Lighting”. You have to make sure that the display shows “Natural Lighting in Yellow. That means you are within the correct distance. Then you can change to any of the other lighting modes in Edit. You can also shoot the shot in any of the other lighting modes. The one I used was Stage Lighting. Hope this helps. Have a great day.

That tray is so cute and I love how you’ve turned it into a focal point.
I couldn’t resist the tray, Joanne, and couldn’t think why someone would give it away. A lucky find for me. Thanks for visiting and have a lovely week.

Lovely find at your thrift store! I love wooden trays but haven’t found one as nice as yours – love the bees and honeycomb. Does your eucalyptus honey have a faint taste of eucalyptus? I’ve read it is the healthiest honey.
Sometimes you can find some great things at the Thrift Store and this was one of those times. The eucalyptus honey does have a taste of eucalyptus that is quite pleasant. I had also heard it was very healthy honey. It’s delicious on English muffins. Thanks for stopping by and sharing. Have a lovely week.
