Even Bees Need a Break

I stumbled upon these truly lovely cups adorned with delicate bees fluttering around a hive, crafted with intricate raised white lines. The pattern is “Andrea” by Sadek. Each cup comes with a wire mesh inset, perfect for straining and steeping tea right in the cup. The clever design includes a snug-fitting top to keep the tea warm after steeping. Simply remove the mesh insert, and your tea is ready to enjoy. It’s a delightful way to savor a moment of tranquility with a warm cup of your favorite tea.

After steeping, I love transferring the tea to the matching tray, which boasts the same charming bee and hive design as the cups. It’s the perfect accompaniment for a tea cup and a delightful treat like today’s choice, a chocolate eclair. Despite the overcast and rainy day, the bright china and cozy setup offer a welcoming distraction. It’s amazing how a beautiful setting can make even the gloomiest weather feel inviting

I set the tray on a lovely yellow placemat from Crate and Barrell. The mats are embroidered in white with matching napkins held together with “Bee” napkin rings. A simple crystal pitcher holds some dwarf snowballs from the front garden.

Some matching bee flatware by Wallace complete the place setting. It’s such a lovely set to use and reminds me of the garden and those busy pollinators.

As the rain beats against the windows and the wind lashes the trees outside, we’re tucked away indoors, safe and cozy, enjoying our afternoon tea break. The tea is wonderfully hot and delicious, and the treat we’ve chosen goes a long way to counteract the weather’s chill. The gentle presence of the bees on our cups reminds me that after the rain, the garden will be waiting, full of life and color. It’s moments like these that make the rain seem like a friend, offering us a chance to slow down and find comfort in the simple joys of life.

I remember my grandma having something similar to this pattern for honey, complete with a little honey wand. Your donut looks quite tasty on this pretty tray!

What a beautiful snack tray set to enjoy a hot cup of tea on a dreary day. My go to on a rainy days are lit candles.
I will definitely add some candles to have with tea on the next rainy day. Great suggestion, Jan. Thanks for stopping by and sharing. Have a wonderful week.

Now you have me coveting the entire set (even the chocolate eclair), and I’m on the search! How lovely to find your blog through Days Filled With Joy.
I feel the same about bees, I feel so happy when I see them in the garden, and I like to keep their space free from pesticides. It’s such a contrast to how I felt about them when I was younger, and all I wanted to do was get away from them (I was stung as a toddler – lol!)
So happy you found your way here. I wish you good fortune in your hunt for these dishes. I’m on the lookout for some matching pieces, too. Enough good things can’t be said about bees. It’s great to find others who welcome them in their gardens. Thanks for visiting and hope you’ll be back soon. Have a lovely week.

Lynne, I absolutely adore these cute bee cups! The ambiance is beautiful and very calming. One of our neighbors who moved away a year ago used to gift us fresh honey, from his Italian bees. It was always a lovely gesture to receive a jar of honey. Like you, I’m also fond of bees, and their significant role as pollinators. I enjoy observing them in my garden. Thank you for sharing your post at The Crazy Little Lovebirds link party #33.
Bees are gardeners best friends and it’s always lovely to find another bee lover, Steph. What a lovely thing to be gifted. Honey is good for you and such a wonderful gesture from your former neighbor. Enjoy your garden and have a great week.
