Tea with Spring Flowers

Welcome to the blog today, Friends, we’re having tea with beautiful fresh blooms from the garden. I am so happy you are here to share this with me. Hyacinths and daffodils are blooming and I brought them indoors for a little garden sunshine. The fragrance of hyacinths perfumes the air and blends with the delightful aroma of Earl Grey Tea. It’s a lovely respite from the stress of everyday life.

I gathered the blooms in a simple Rosenthal vase and combined them with a few lamb’s ear leaves. the textures are quite lovely together…pink and yellow are such happy colors.

A simple blueberry muffin with melted butter is served on a Noritake, “Barrymore”, plate.

A matching cup and saucer are used for the tea service. One of my English stoneware teapots with a cream and sugar complement the cups and saucers. That first pour of steeped liquid is so soothing.

Add a little milk in the English tradition to the cup and you have a wonderful beverage to drink as you relax and enjoy your muffin.

The library is a great spot to begin to plan a trip to Florence while enjoying a respite in the day.

Embroidered napkins add to the idea of a luxurious break. If you have lovely china and silver, I think you should use it and not save it for company. It’s important to take some special time for yourself, maybe sharing that time with another. Brew a pot of tea, heat up a muffin and bask in a beautiful setting. Washing a couple of dishes seems a small price to pay for such a peaceful interlude.

Hope you are able to take a little time during your busy day to enjoy your favorite beverage.
