Decorating the Hutch

Welcome to the Blog today, Friends. I’m so happy you’re here to share how I decorated my Hutch with a Thrift Store china find. I love the color of these beautiful Mikasa plates in the Belle Terre pattern. I found them recently at my local Goodwill and they are in beautiful condition. I wanted to have them out where I could see them and the Dining Room Hutch seemed like the perfect place to showcase this set.

It was fun to intersperse some green plants amongst the china in a look towards Spring. Ivy is always a welcome indoor plant that grows in low light. The variegated pattern of the leaves gives a lightness to the plant. Even the terracotta container picks up some of the orange color in the china. In this picture you can see the pretty china cup. The handle is very delicate and looks a bit like a vine to me.

Another plant sits in a ruffled paper container. The dark leaves are a nice contrast to the paler greens in the china.

A decanter and sherry glasses are waiting for a nice sherry to be added to the container. The set adds a nice bit of sparkle to the Hutch.

Here’s a view of the entire hutch, straight on. The plants keep everything from being too cold and utilitarian.

The picture softens when you take an angled shot. Seeing this new china in a lovely setting makes this Thrift Store find even better. Thanks so much for stopping by today and joining me in decorating the Hutch.
