Mid February Thrift

Welcome to the Blog today, Friends, I’m delighted you are here to share another thrifting adventure. This week I’m combining several trips to various local Thrift Stores to share what I found. Some were planned and some were just a drop in as we passed by a shop. So, here we go.

First up are these very sweet Easter place mats. I found four of them at 75 cents each. Here you can see them after they were washed and they came out nice and bright. They would make a fun chiildren’s table or for young-at-heart adults.

I also found six William Sonoma place mats for the same price at a different store. They washed up really well and would probably go best in the Fall though I’m thinking it could make a really interesting table in the Summer months.

I found this great set of six glasses by Fostoria. They are really quite lovely and have a nice weight to them. They were a bit pricier than I usually pay at $3 per glass but they are in great shape and my Husband liked them so into the cart they went.

these two signs were found on a different day. The Easter sign is made from wood and is quite rustic looking. Not sure where I’m going to put it put I think it will look great in an Easter display. The Fa La La sign I’ll store until December. I liked the simplicity of that sign.

I found this great table runner in tones of gray, white and cream. it’s reversible which actually gives me two different options. I love when that happens.

I’m a big fan of chargers and these glass ones are super. The centers are clear and the rims have a sort of depressed glass look to them. They have a slight green tinge to the glass and are in great shape. Chargers made from glass are pretty expensive and these were originally priced at $10 per charger. I was able to get them for $3 each which I thought was a pretty decent price.

However, the best find of the day was four glass chargers by Cine an Italian maker. They are quite beautiful. They are clear glass on the top and frosted glass underneath. The scalloped edges are beautiful and they make quite a statement on the table. The chargers are not identical because I think each one was made separately. I haven’t been able to find the chargers on-line but glass plates by the same mfg. sell for between $20 and $65 per plate. Chargers generally run higher than plates. I can’t wait to use them. I paid more than I usually do for these at $8 a piece but I think they are worth the extra cost.
Many of you have commented about the rising prices of Thrift Stores in your area and I agree completely. Prices are definitely on the way up which makes it even more important to understand what you are purchasing and what the price is other places. Then you can make an informed decision. Hope you all have great adventures thrifting your next time out.

My eyes gravitated toward the placemats especially the fallish one and the runner. I have similar spring placemats and have used clear glass plates so the cute design could still be seen. The Fostoria glasses are beautiful. Always look forward to seeing how you use your thrifting finds.
Thanks, Jan, I’m working on a table setting now for some dishes I found recently. I need a little Spring in my life in a “wintery” sort of way. That sounds so confusing LOL. Thanks for visiting and hope you have a lovely week.

Although I don’t use placemats, I really liked both sets you got. Can’t wait to see them in tablescapes! You find the prettiest glassware! The Easter sign is so cute. I think I would wind a pip berry garland around the edge to give it just a bit of color!
I agree, Kathy, a bit of garland would definitely brighten up the sign. I have to figure out a good place to hang it for Easter. The placemats are really colorful. Thanks for stopping by and sharing. Have a wonderful week.

Those chargers are gorgeous! I can’t wait to see them on your table as I’m sure you’ve got china that will be amazing on them. I have just a few chargers I picked up at Michaels and don’t even begin to compare to yours. I think, during Spring Break, I’m going to take my granddaughter and visit a couple of thrift stores with an eye to add some china, linens or chargers. Then, I’ll have to figure out where to store them!

The chargers are really gorgeous, Marsha, and unusual. I haven’t figured out a really good combination yet but I’m working on it. Hope you find some great things on your outing with your Granddaughter. Storage is always an issue. LOL. Have a great week.
