Christmas Signs and a Goose

Welcome to the Blog today. I’m so glad you’re here to visit with me. I’m a bit late getting this posted but it was a very busy day yesterday and I’m still catching up. I hope you are recovered from all the Thanksgiving festivities. We had a lovely Thanksgiving, ate too much turkey and dessert and had a wonderful time with family and friends. Now it’s time to get serious about decorating.
I’ve been collecting Christmas signs, posters, and framed items to display this year. I find them in Thrift Stores all year round and most cost $3 – $5 dollars like the one shown in the picture above. I especially liked this one because I have a fondness for reindeer and the frame was a lovely seasonal red. This was in excellent condition and I was happy to find it.

Loved this sign, too with its message of joy and family. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas conveys so many thoughts of good will to those receiving the greeting. This sign is a simple black and white design with a variety of fonts and sizes that make the message interesting to read.

These two signs are about believing in the joy of Christmas as seen through the eyes of a child. Santa’s famous greeting is presented in the upper sign and you can see him with his reindeer flying through the sky in the lower one. The Believe sign I made a couple of years ago and I love how it turned out.

For many of us this is a wonderful time of year and its a time to share some of our blessings with others. This is a great framed sign with a tartan pattern surrounding the famous wording.

Eat, Drink and Be Merry is part of the holiday fun. For me doing the first two in moderation goes a long way to allowing me to be the third.LOL. This simple sign is painted on some barn boards which makes it festive and just a little bit rustic.

A little snow goes a long way with me but having those flurries in the air on a beautiful night is magical. I made this sign on an old window a couple of years ago. It’s still one of my favorites.
When you put all the signs together on a wall gallery with a few other additions it makes a statement about the holidays. I have a few more things to add but thought I’d show you how it looks now.

It’s coming together and I love seeing all these positive reminders of such a lovely season.
I also promised you a look at the Christmas goose once I had him ready. He is nestled in his basket of greens with a bright Christmas ribbon to mark the season.

He’s a happy goose tucked into his nest. He’ll be there throughout the holiday season.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing this time with me. I hope you have a wonderful week.

Great finds!
Thanks, Donna, it has been fun collecting the signs. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week.

I have collected Christmas signs for several years. In our last house, I displayed them on the shelf above the wainscoting in the front hall. In our new home, I have to be a little more creative. We recently painted our front hall and moved some furniture around so I’m anxious and yet hesitant to start decorating. You do it so wisely…a bit at a time. I do love the Christmas goose in his evergreen nest!
Thanks so much for sharing this with us!

It’s always exciting and just a bit scary to start decorating a new space. Lovely to have a new home and I’m sure you will enjoy it. Mr. Goose is enjoying his nest by the fireplace and we are enjoying him. Thanks for visiting and sharing. Have a great week.

Such a clever way to showcase the goodse!
Thanks, Robin, the goose is like a member of the family. He enjoys getting dressed up for the holidays. Hope you have a great week and thanks for stopping by.

The Christmas goose is perfect. I loved your signs. This year for our church fair, I downloaded free Christmas sheet music, framed the songs in thrifted frames, then embellished each frame a bit, i.e., spots of glitter and a small resin snowman with a sprig of greenery for Frosty the Snowman, Nativity buttons for Silent Night, etc. All different. They were a hit; our music teacher wanted more to gift to her students! Used up a box of hoarded frames!
Lynne, I love your Christmas signs and your goose. I enjoy coming by to see what you find when you go thrift shopping. Thank you for sharing this with us at The Crazy Little Love Birds link party. Tomorrow this post will be added to the list of features for Friday! I hope you can join us again soon.
Thanks so much, Stephanie, love visiting your site and such a boost to be featured. It’s almost always possible to find something great when thrifting. Have a lovely week.

Love the goose in the basket! It’s perfect for the holidays. Thank you for sharing your post with the Home Imagined Link party.
Thanks, Anna. This goose is so happy to be out of the Thrift Store and in a nest by the fire. He just might stay forever. LOL. Wishing you a happy holiday season.
