I love a good Vintage Market, don’t you? A beautiful Fall morning with cool temperatures and sunny skies and a field of Vendors located right next to a super great Vintage Market sounds like the perfect Fall activity. My Hubby and I met our Daughter at the market bright and early so we had plenty of time to wander through the shops. After a stop to stoke up on coffee and apple cider we started out to look at the stalls.

The picture above shows one of my favorite finds…English stone ware at reasonable prices. I loved this collection and the way it was displayed. This beautiful hutch and all the stoneware displayed could have been found in a neighbor’s home or in yours. The pitchers, jugs, teapots and coffee pots were all in excellent condition. For collectors this was such a great find.

Lots of fun things were just waiting for us to discover and everyone has a story just like each piece has a story to share. I enjoy talking to the vendors as we progress through the market. They are such interesting people and very friendly. In the South everyone has time to chat.

Keeping an eye out for seasonal displays as we go through the market can inspire vignettes for your home. This one caught my eye because of the great wooden tray and neutral pumpkins with these colorful fall leaves. I even liked the flour sack draped over one end of the tray.

I liked this idea of displaying pumpkins in brass candlesticks. The tray propped behind the candlesticks brings out the colors. Such a simple display that can easily be replicated at home.

Above is a paint-chipped terra cotta vase that holds a seasonal display of foliage. It sits on a white wooden table that picks up the chippy paint on the vase. A simple but colorful Fall statement.

I thought these wooden paddles were really interesting. They would make great display pieces. You can see from the prices that these are not super expensive.

Dough bowls are always a draw for me. I loved the patches on these and the prices were excellent.

Another simple Fall display using fabric pumpkins embellished with floral accents. Set behind the pumpkins is a simple wooden frame. How sweet is this?

Here’s a fun vignette in “a little red wagon”. This one has simple burlap mounded in the wagon with ceramic and glass pumpkins artfully displayed…seasonal and colorful.

We really enjoyed our time at the market and even found a few goodies. We were shopping for our Daughter’s new apartment and she had some items on her list. Most important was a door that could be turned into a long, narrow table. I’ll be showing pictures of this project when it’s finished. We found the perfect door, an antique Egyptian one with rustic hardware still attached. It will work beautifully. She also picked up some artisan earrings and a butcher block piece for another project. It was a great day at the Market.
