Thrift Store Fun

Welcome, I’m so happy you’re here to share this shop with me. This time of year is great for Thrift Stores. Items for all the upcoming holidays are starting to appear on the shelves and people are donating as they clear out their homes for the holiday season. Makes it fun to be in the stores. I went to two stores this week…a Goodwill and a local Thrift Store that was nearby. I have some goodies to share.

First is this very cute Ladybug sign that will be great for the garden this Spring. It is made of metal and wood and is about three feet long. Love the colors and the rustic appearance.

Next, the cute little truck filled with pumpkins for the Fall. It will look great in a Fall vignette.

Another sign will wait until Easter to be displayed. It’s nice and bright and will be sweet with some Easter decorations.

Found these wonderful trays depicting country scenes. They had been hung on someone’s wall for display so were in great shape. They are a nice size for glasses or an afternoon treat and love the pictures displayed on the front.

This was a nice collection of ivy leaves. One is a garland and one is a bunch. These are always handy to use in displays so I pick them up whenever I see them.

A runner in jewel tones was another find that made it into the basket. I love these tones for Winter especially. They really brighten up a table.

I did have some really nice finds today and the above glasses are one of them. These are “Stephanie” by Mikasa and some were brand new with stickers. They sell for about $90 a glass new. Of course I didn’t pay anywhere near that amount so they were a terrific find. They have delicate stems and the bowls are cut in such a way that they capture and reflect the light. Quite beautiful and nice to find six of them.

These Halloween ceramic plates were a great find for less than $4. There are four plates and they each have a different scene. They are very colorful and fun.

Two small wire baskets made it into the cart. I loved the size and shape of these. They will be perfect for small vignettes and flower baskets.

Finally, these Minton luncheon plates made their way into the cart. Minton is a top china maker and these plates are beautiful. The design around the rim has raised flowers. The edges are scalloped and covered in gold. The plates are in beautiful condition and a wonderful size for tea or a lunch with Friends. “Garden Pinks” is the pattern. They were about $2 per plate. Not bad for Minton.

I know y’all love to have the prices for what I find. Everything except the glasses and plates were by weight at the Goodwill last call store. They all came to about $6 and I also had a wooden cow that I forgot to photograph that weighed quite a bit. This is a great way to buy stuff. I don’t go there often and it’s really hit or miss in terms of finding good items. Still worth a look when I’m in the area.
Hope you have a great time and find some treasures on your next thrifting adventure.

Those David Carter Brown Halloween plates were a real coup! I did a Halloween tablescape with that set 2 orn3 years ago and really like the designs! Great haul overall!
Your china and glassware finds are so amazing! I went to a Goodwill last call store once. It’s so overwhelming! And, it’s almost like Black Friday with limited items on super duper sale! The people were so pushy and no one wanted to budge! I especially love that runner. I can’t wait to see what you do with it!

Great finds! I love the Halloween plates!
Thanks, Erin. I love finding small things that have a big impact on a table. Halloween table settings will be coming soon. Have a great week.

My favorite is the Minton plate purchase! Our Goodwill bin store is too far away to make the trip (worthwhile). I thrifted that set Halloween plates several years ago. They were a ‘filler’ in only one tablescape. The scenes just didn’t give the right Halloween vibe for me. I sold my set this year.
You absolutely cannot go wrong with Minton, Robin. I like finding small plates that can change the look of a table in an easy way. Changing things out is a good way to keep your stash culled. I’m hoping to do a big one this Fall. Have a great week and thanks for sharing.

Really, is there anything better than going thrifting? It’s my favorite pastime! You found some great items 🙂 I love the tray. I’ve seen those as full tins with those pieces as the lids before. So many different styles and really beautiful scenes on them.
I loved the trays, too, Melanie. They really are pretty. Thrifting is always an adventure and probably why I enjoy it so much. Thanks for visiting and sharing. Have a great week.
