Welcome to this week’s Thrift Shop. I’m so glad you’re here to take a look at some goodies I found this week. The Goodwill Last Chance Center was on my errand route this week so stopped in for a few minutes. It’s quite chaotic so I have to really gear up for a visit and usually limit my time to 15 – 30 minutes. It was 1/2 price day so it was a very busy place and packed with shoppers. I found a few things that I brought home to share with you.

First was this really nice wooden dish rack. You can certainly use it to dry dishes but I think it will make a much better display rack for odd and colorful pieces. These sell for a quite a bit and this one was in good condition. It is missing the flatware holder but I would have taken that off anyway.

Next is this pretty simple door hanging Christmas piece. It needs a little love and some reworking of the greens and the bow but it was in excellent condition and the greens were worth the price of the piece. Faux greenery is really climbing in price and these were in great shape.

I found some additional faux pieces as well. The one on the left is a Spring bouquet and a bit pricey in the stores. Then I found some wonderful roses with great color. They washed up beautifully and will be useful come Summer.

This metal pillar candle bird cage was a great find. It is quite nicely made and in great condition. Even the door worked perfectly and the handle is a spiral. All of the above items came to about $5. Not too bad.

My final purchase of the day was this beautiful set of 8 Lenox china plates in perfect condition. Even the gold edges were in excellent condition with no scratches or dings. Clearly someone cared a lot about keeping these plates beautiful. They were just under $2 per plate and are a lovely plate for Spring and Summer.
It was a great day for shopping for just a few items. Hope you have luck on your next thrifting adventure.
Another great haul! I can’t wait to see what you do with the dish drainer 🙂
I’m working on some vignettes for thanksgiving and the drainer may appear in one of those. It was a good day. thanks for stopping and have a great week.

I definitely would have grabbed those flowers – they are soooo pricey nowadays!
I know, Gina, I can’t believe how much they have gone up in price. I grab faux when I see it. thanks for visiting. Have a great week.

I think I went to one of those Goodwill Last Chance Centers. Is that where they have huge containers of things, and you have only a small bit of time to pick through and choose? I found it really intimidating as there were some serious (and mean) people there! Love those dishes and can’t wait to see what you do with them!

That sounds similar to what we have here although there’s no time limit. It is intimidating and I can only go for a short time. the dishes are really pretty. can’t wait to use them. thanks for stopping by and have a great week.

It is amazing that you found untouched (undamaged) china in the bins!!!! Good grab! The roses look so realistic (with faded bloom parts). A Halloween thought: that birdcage could house a raven?
Robin, super idea about the oven. I’ll be looking for one in my travels. Maybe the after Hallowe’en sales will have something. the roses did look quite real. We’ll see how the do in a centerpiece. Have a great week.

Good eye on the dish rack! I’ve been hoping to find one of those in an estate sale!
I’ve been looking for one for awhile, Rita, so was very pleased to find this one. Just have to figure out the best way to display it now. Thanks for visiting and have a great week.
