The challenge of thrifting includes weathering the “dry” spells. I feel like that is the case for the last several months but today’s adventure was much more satisfying. The picture above shows a beautiful white table topper with battenburg lace. These tablecloths are beautiful and show so well against a darker background. Today I’m sharing several tablecloths and toppers I found. The total price for five tablecloths and toppers was $8.50. I consider that a real bargain.
Here’s a look at the full topper. It is quite striking. I use this layered look for a slightly more formal table and it makes a great brunch or Afternoon Tea setting.
The next topper is also festooned (don’t you just love that word) with lace. The edging is beautiful and there is a nice center medallion. The soft yellow color is beautiful and so sunny.
I really liked this simple country tablecloth. It has an overall pattern of yellow flowers and this lovely border of vining flowers in yellow, blue and green. You can see how I used it here:
This next one is a round tablecloth with battenburg lace. It has large inserts of lace and also lace edging…quite lovely.
This last topper is quite striking with an embroidered center in white on white and a beautiful border of lavender bouquets around the edges. The colors are beautiful and the design perfect for Spring. You can see how I used it here: https://thriftingwonderland.com/2023/03/28/tea-and-the-garden/
This was the most expensive at $2.50. the others came to a total of $6.00. I was really thrilled to run across o many beautiful things. The lavender topper I found a few months ago but the others all on the same day.
The last items from this thrifting outing were three charming Spode Christmas ornaments showing a bear in a stocking, a kitty in a stocking, and a lone bear. The silver item is actually a wine strainer.
The wine strainer breaks down into two pieces so you can clean inside. You pour the wine into the cup of the strainer and allow the wine to drain into a wine carafe. The attached spout allows a nice stream of wine to enter the carafe also aerating the wine as it passes through the strainer.

The tablecloths are beautiful, and what a bargain! I had never heard of a wine strainer, although I live in wine country. I’m not sure that I would’ve had any idea what to do with it had I found it while thrifting. Thank you for the continuing education 🙂

You certainly had a bargain bonanza of a linen haul!!! My linen finds are inexpensive (for me) each in the $5-$10 range for rounds for the kitchen table or large rectangles for the dining table, but I’ve never scored in your price range!!!! WOW.
I was very excited to find such beautiful linens. The going rate here in a Thrift Store is $2.50 – $5.00 per cloth with most of them at the lower end. These were a bargain find. Thanks for visiting and sharing.

I am so grateful that you share these beautiful things with people. I regret not picking up thrift shop linens more, just never had the room or lifestyle. Yet, they remind me of my mother who enjoyed setting out our simple n good dinner/supper table.

I don’t believe the treasures you find so cheaply!!! It never ceases to amaze me! I, too, love linens, but don’t use them as often as you do. I often buy them and do them up for my vintage booth, too! It is so hard to let go of the ones that would fit my table! I have even been known to buy a cloth shower curtain, trim the top off and rehem it! I love the colors showing through the Battenburg lace cloths!
Linens are such wonderful finds a the Thrift Store and most can be brought back to life. My area is really good for thrifting and estate sales which I know is not true of everywhere. Reusing fabric is a great way to save some money as fabric is so expensive. Thanks for sharing.
