Simple Thrifted Spring Tablescape

It’s so nice to begin using some Spring dishes on the table. Bringing out table coverings in soft Spring colors is another joy of the season. So happy to have you join me here today for a look at a very simple Spring table setting using all thrifted items…except for the flowers LOL…they came from my garden.

You can see from the picture above that soft yellows and whites set the stage for some lovely English china. The set is by Susie Cooper and reminds me of a simple country setting. The edges are scalloped and then highlighted in a soft green. Green vines with rust colored flowers run along the rim of the plates. I found this set a couple of years ago. It has six dinner, six salad/dessert and six bread and butter plates.

“Melody” by International Silver accompanies the setting. You can see the intricate flowers at the base of the handles. Love how deeply they are etched. Here you also get a look at the lace in the topper on the table. These beautiful lace inserts really add to the beauty of the overall look.

Here you can see the beautiful lace edging . The topper rests on a flowered tablecloth showing simple yellow country flowers. I liked the combination of the country cloth with the more formal topper. The yellow in both are bright and cheerful.

The crystal stemware is by Lenox. I found a set of four white and eight red wine glasses while thrifting. They were quite inexpensive and such a pretty pattern. They are simple but elegant so you can use them in many different settings.

The centerpiece is a lovely cut crystal bowl that holds a bouquet of viburnum snowball blooms from the garden. This low arrangement is simple and relaxed and fits in the center of the lace outline of the topper, The greens pick-up on the green in the china while still keeping a relaxed look.

This overhead look of the table shows the patterning of the tablecloth, table topper and the china and crystal. Somehow they all seem to come together in a blended whole. You can see the simple white embroidered napkin that rests on the matching bread and butter plate. It is encircled by a lovely silver napkin ring.

Sometimes it’s fun to marry two different styles together. I think the casual country look of the tablecloth and plates works well with the more formal topper, silver and crystal. Do you think it works?
