“Autumn that year painted the countryside in vivid shades of scarlet, saffron, and russet, and the days were clear and crisp under the harvest skies.” Sharon Kay Penman

This week I found myself in a forest of reds and oranges and greens. I looked up at the sky, this vivid blue background lit by the sun and radiating the leaves with light. It was magical. A few moments of solitude and contemplation led to renewal. I looked up and saw so much that was larger and older than I will ever be. It was humbling.

Welcome, Friends, for a look at Fall color.

“There is something so special in the early leaves drifting from the trees–as if we are all to be allowed a chance to peel, to refresh, to start again.” Ruth Ahmed

Closer to the ground a beautiful display of red cascaded from an upper branch. Waterfalls without the water. Nature is truly a wonder.

“I remember it as October days are always remembered, cloudless, maple-flavored, the air gold and so clean it quivers.” Leif Enger

Oranges in so many shades it amazes the mind and the visual senses. if only I could paint this glory but a photograph will have to do.

“Autumn leaves shower like gold, like rainbows, as the winds of change begin to blow.” Dan Millman

Nature blends her colors with such skill and beauty. We have only to look at our world and experience the wonder.

“How beautifully leaves grow old. How full of light and color are their last days.” John Burroughs

Look up, look up and see with your eyes and with your heart the beauty of Fall that surrounds you. Take a moment and savor all you see, then carry it with you. You will not regret the time you spend experiencing this wonderful season.

  1. Love the prints of trees, we have some of the most beautiful trees this fall here in the mountains. Your tablescapes so pretty. Lilly

  2. SO beautiful! I never tire of looking at fall colors. Sadly, most of our leaves have passed by now.

    1. It is such a beautiful time of year and lasts such a short time. We had rain last night and today which took many of the leaves off the trees. However, it was beautiful while it lasted. thanks for visiting and sharing.

  3. Just beautiful! Our leaves are just beginning to turn here in North Texas. Crazy warm here – it was 78 degrees outside today and 88 degrees yesterday, 11/8/22. Feels like a Southern California fall. Happy to feature two of your posts this evening at Share Your Style #367 for you. <3

    Happy fall hugs,
    Barb 🙂

  4. This is a gorgeous post Lynne – I’m moved and humbled, as you said. Thanks for the beauty and the reminder of how wonderful the world really is! 💛
