September has arrived and with it visions of red and gold falling leaves, crisp apples and long walks during cool days. I am so fortunate to be able to enjoy all these Fall treats. Another special treat awaits you today as I join with 20 talented and creative bloggers to present a “Welcome Fall Tablescape Blog Hop”. The wonderful Rita of Panoply has put together a fabulous group of ladies to give you so many ideas for decorating your table this Fall. I know you will really enjoy seeing all these wonderful table settings. So pour yourself a cup of coffee or tea and get comfortable as you enjoy this great look at Fall.

My Morning Room is ready for Fall with warm colors and a nice casual feel to the table. Along the back wall you can see some wooden pumpkins and wine boxes welcoming the Fall season. The paintings you see are all in Fall colors of browns and reds and depict quiet country gathering spaces that invite you to linger and enjoy.
The jumping off point for this tablescape was the table cloth. A multitude of leaves in Fall reds, oranges, greens and browns on a neutral background set the tone.
The place setting uses a woven red charger as it’s base. A wooden trencher comes next in warm brown tones. Next is the dessert/salad plate in vibrant fall colors that pull together the colors in the table cloth. An Italian soup bowl in red and orange completes the plate stack. Amber flatware wrapped in a beautiful stainless steel design pulls in the oranges in the table cloth and dessert plate.
Here’s a closer look, in the pictures above, of the plate stack. Did you know that trenchers began as three-day old slabs of bread which held your food. After eating the food the bread “trenchers” were given to the poor.
Matching water and wine goblets with a lovely leaf pattern compliment the table setting. These are “Lady Anne” from Gorham.
I found these really sweet, wooden, apple napkin rings in barn red at a Thrift Store a few years ago. I think they make the perfect addition to the table. The napkins are a cotton/linen blend in a pretty green.
The hydrangea and dahlia centerpiece is replaced during dessert by a fruit and cheese tray. The colors are still those of Fall with the shapes adding interest to the table. Both centerpieces feature wooden containers that tie in with the wooden trenchers at the base of the plate stack.
Such fun to play with color and shapes to create a Welcome Fall Tablescape that everyone can relax and enjoy.
The gallery wall is decorated for Fall. A few handmade items are sprinkled in with the mostly Thrift Store finds. I like the eclectic, relaxed look it gives the room. Everything included in the tablescape was thrifted.

You have so many thrifted finds that I bet it’s hard for you to even choose which ones to use for a tablescape, Lynne! But the nice thing is you’ve already put together several tablescapes, and you continue churning them out, to play with the seasons. This is a really nice table setting, and I was not familiar with the use of trenches! The colors are really nice here, and I especially love the flatware and the alternative use of flowers and wine and cheese trays as centerpieces! I love the deep colors you have chosen for your Time for Fall Tablescape. I usually prefer the deep rich colors like you are displaying. I have to admit I had no idea what a trencher was or of course the story about the old bread.
