Ireland, that magic land of endless green and mythical tales was on my mind today as I was planning this flower arrangement. I remembered a cottage basket found a few months ago and pulled it out. It was the perfect Irish cottage. Welcome to the Blog today, Friends, for a little bit of Ireland.

Isn’t this a great basket? It captures that cozy, cottage feel and has a pretty big interior. I placed a plastic container inside the basket and added some florist foam to hold the blooms. Daisies, yarrow, mums and a lone hydrangea were used in the arrangement. I love how cheery the yellow flowers look.

A white embroidered table runner that might have been found in an Irish household was used to cover the sideboard. I love the embroidered flowers that run the length of the cloth. They include some cut work that gives the cloth a lighter feel.

A beautiful little tea set that belonged to my Grandmother picks up the pinks and purples in the arrangement. The tea set sits in front of a watercolor of an abandoned cottage set in the countryside of County Cork.

Here’s a better view of the watercolor.

Different textures and colors contribute to the overall look of the bouquet adding interest. Irish gardens are filled with a rainbow of colors and the blooms create a wonderful welcome to any visitor lucky enough to see them. It’s a happy vignette and brings back wonderful memories of our trip.

To balance the side opposite the lowers I added some pretty pink candles to Irish crystal candleholders. The candles bring out the pink in the teapot. The Irish people migrated in great numbers to North America and built new lives in this country. Many of us have “A Little Bit of Ireland” in our backgrounds and an affinity for the Irish culture.
May your day be touched by a bit of Irish luck, brightened by a song in your heart and warmed by the smiles of the people you love.

A pretty display to foster memories. Your garden is going gangbusters!
It rained buckets yesterday and today I think everything grew at least a foot. LOL Now I have to go out and tackle the weeds and do some trimming. Love tending to the garden. Thanks for commenting.
