Hope all of you had a wonderful Mother’s Day. I’ve been a bit busy this last week so haven’t done as many posts. I’m prepping for a tag sale and there is stuff everywhere. Enough said about that. LOL Welcome to the Blog today. I received some beautiful flowers from my daughter, time at the art fair and a trip to a tearoom for Mother’s Day. We had a wonderful time. Thanks Em, love you. So I added a few flowers from the garden….the Amaryllis are in bloom….. and the result was a “Joyful Exuberance” that I carried over into the table setting.
The table started with the centerpiece made up of peonies, tulips, and amaryllis in a simple glass vase that rests on a rather lovely canna lily silver and white trivet from Johnson Bros. Silversmiths. Everything rests on a green and white tablecloth covered in beautiful peonies.
The plate stack starts with a Lenox charger in green with white flowers drifting around the rim. that’s followed by a Villeroy & Boch dinner plate in the “Sienna” pattern and finally a Pier 1 salad/dessert plate. When I was creating the centerpiece one of the Amaryllis stems broke. It turned out to be a lovely thing as I used the stems in crystal flower holders to sit in the center of the plate stack adding color and floral impact.

The water goblet and wine glass added even more color to the table with their green hues that bring out the plate stack colors and the green of the flower stems.
I chose napkins in a flowered pattern and the darker tones of the flowers. I like the way they pick-up the more intense colors. The silver-plate flatware is “American Chippendale” by International Silver. The fluted pattern on this flatware adds interest but is not particularly ornate. It creates a nice balance.
You have a lovely view of all that color as you look around the table from place setting to place setting. Makes you feel happy just to be at the table.
Here’s an overhead shot. Beautiful flowers are everywhere on the table. I called this a “Joyful Thrifted Table Setting” because it makes me smile and everything on the table is thrifted. It’s amazing what you can do with items from the Thrift Store.
This is such a pretty table! I love the colors, and the peonies are gorgeous. I’ve yet to buy some peonies this spring, but you have me eager to do just that. The Villeroy & Boch dinner plate in the “Sienna” is gorgeous. I remember when I first saw this pattern, it was love at first sight. We don’t have any pieces, so it’s extra fun to see your table set with these exquisite dishes. Glad you enjoyed a beautiful Mother’s Day.
