Spring Table Setting with Thrifted Items

I am so excited to be able to use these…..new to me…..dishes from Mikasa. They are quite beautiful with their lovely raised rims in blues, and yellows, pinks and greens. Spring colors everywhere on the plate and soup bowl that also appear in the gorgeous placemats embroidered in the same colors and displaying beautiful flowers. Welcome to the Blog today, Friends. I do love these Spring colors and am so happy to be using them in this table setting.

This tablescape begins with a soft green damask table cloth and a Spring basket filled with flowers and a bright pink and green ribbon. You can see that the tablecloth is scattered with flowers and butterflies…..a perfect accompaniment to Spring thoughts.

You have a good picture here of the tablecloth, the placemat and the plate stack with the silverware. I used a simple white charger and the Mikasa china in this stack.

I really like how these plates look against a white background. The simple ceramic white charger sets off the rim of the plate and all the glorious colors displayed. The soup/pasta bowls are a nice accompaniment to the plates. The Mikasa pattern is called Villa Medici.

Lenox, Firefly, crystal adds lovely facets of light to the table. The crystal is simple and elegant and goes well with the more complex china pattern.

Spring Garden, a 1949 pattern by International Silver is simple yet ties in well with the china and placemats due to its flower motif. The silver-plate is an older pattern but still looks quite nice on the table.

I used a linen napkin, in white, with a crocheted edging and embroidered flower design that shows in the folded napkin. Waterford crystal napkin rings hold the napkins. I love using this napkin rings. They are very special with their beautiful cut glass designs.

Here’s an overview of the table. You can see how the colors blend. The brighter pinks bring some life to the table. I love how the plates and the centerpiece and placemats come together creating a unified whole.

The view from one setting to the next is quite pleasant and unobstructed. It even blends well with the wall art behind the table. Finding these plates and bowls was such a pleasure. Thrifting can reward the shopper with treasures that can be used every day to create wonderful home decor.
