Welcome, Friends, to a cozy vignette to usher in your Valentine celebration for 2022. It’s nice to slowly lead up to Valetine’s Day with few smaller little celebrations. After all, the significant people in your life should have more than one Valentine’s Day treat. Today we’re having a little wine and dessert in earth tones.

I started with a pretty round tray in creams and browns. It has a nice circle motif for some interest. A pottery wine goblet, whose stem is in the same creams and browns as the tray, sits on the edge of the tray. A matching pottery wine carafe and a second glass take care of the beverages for this treat.

Added to the tray and taking up the center is a group of four heart-shaped plates in dark brown, cream, gray and pale rose. They pull in all the colors in the tray. I love that these dessert plates are heart-shaped and are in a-typical colors for Valentine’s Day. The colors are quiet earth tones with some texture on the edges of the plates.

Brick red and cream checkered napkins add a touch of Valentine color to the vignette. Each napkin holds a dessert fork and is banded by a pottery napkin ring.

Two accompanying pieces accentuate the browns and creams in the setting. The tree is made of feathers in light and dark browns and creams. It really goes well with the plates, goblets and napkins. The second piece is a dark brown wooden candlestick with a pillar candle in creams and browns.

Behind the tray you can see a camelback sofa with dark brown and cream pillows and a brown and cream throw. It’s nice to have the colors all blending to create a whole picture.

Some small pieces of chocolate coupled with a dry, full-bodied red wine will be a nice introduction to your first Valentine treat. This low key vignette can be savored…..just like your chocolate and wine.
