Welcome to the Blog today, Friends, as I share a “quiet” table setting all about holly. With all the hustle and bustle that surrounds Christmas you can begin to feel a little overwhelmed. Even your home, filled with wonderful decorations, can feel a bit crowded after a couple of weeks. I was feeling a little “tight” in my living space when I put this tablescape together. It is quite simple and not at all crowded with many decorative elements on the table……just a few things to keep us in the holiday spirit.

You can see in the photo above that the table is quite spacious. The place settings allow plenty of room for each guest. No crowding so everyone can take a breath as they settle in for a lovely dinner. The colors are subdued and calm. A holly theme runs through the place setting.

Set on a white tablecloth with red and green narrow stripes running through it, the Williams Sonoma placemats are festooned with a holly appliqué in the bottom corner. Simple silver-plated flatware with small flowers on the handles are set on top of the placemat.

The plate stack begins with a gold and silver glass charger. It’s really pretty and I use it a lot during the winter months. The dinner plate and the salad/dessert plate are both by Fitz & Floyd in the Christmas Holly pattern. This is beautiful china and not produced anymore. You can find it at Thrift Stores, eBay, Marketplace, Etsy, etc. It was very exciting to discover this pattern last year. The final bread and butter plate is by Gibson and has a beautiful yellow Christmas bird surrounded by holly. Holly surrounds the rims of the Fitz & Floyd as well. Lots of holly to help celebrate the season.

A Fitz & Floyd Santa with his bag shared with rabbits is filled with mountain laurel and some camellias from the garden. Greens and a few flowers make this simple centerpiece shine.

White deer on a green runner resplendent with raised embroidery work lead the way for Santa. Ribbon in golds and roses runs down the center of the runner.

A gold candlestick holds a pillar candle in gold shaped as a tree. It’s branches are dusted with glitter and sparkle in the light.

Gorham crystal water goblets and wine glasses add beautiful cut glass to the table setting.

Battenburg lace napkins are held in place by reindeer napkin rings from Pottery Barn. This one is Vixen sporting her best Christmas finery. Here you get a closer look at the silver-plate flatware pattern.

Across the table is a hutch filled with white and gold Christmas china. It adds a peaceful backdrop for this dinner. Santa smiles benignly over the diners helping them to enjoy their time at the table.

A red berry wreath nestled in an evergreen wreath and mounted to a gold mirror are seen at one end of the table.

Looking out toward the hall you can see the Christmas Tree covered in special ornaments and lighting the way as we journey towards Christmas morning.

Take a moment to enjoy a quiet break in this busy season. May peace and joy be with you throughout the holiday season and into the New Year.
