Fall has arrived and I am so happy that it has. The trees are starting to change colors and the air has cooled down. The days are nice and warm and the nights call for a jacket….the best of both worlds to my way of thinking. I am in the garden almost every day which is a real pleasure after such a hot and humid Summer. So, welcome to the Blog, Friends, as I share with you a Fall table setting with all thrifted items.
The idea for this tablescape began with the tablecloth and its beautiful yellow, white and gold flowers on a grey background. I wanted something in the center of the table that would really be eye-catching and filled with Fall colors. I used an antique tin tray with wooden handle filled with ceramic pumpkins and a selection of Granny Smith and Gala apples.
Next came the plate stack beginning with the harvest gold charger followed by a Mikasa dinner plate, a white Alfred Meaking dessert/salad plate with beautiful bird designs and a Mikasa bread and butter plate. The soup bowl is Italian and has those wonderful orange and red colors.
The parings were a bit unusual bit I really liked how they all came together with the centerpiece.
Eldon silver-plate with a simple flower pattern was used for the flatware. A harvest gold napkin in a beaten bronze napkin holder sits next to the flatware. I inserted a dried hydrangea blossom into each napkin ring bringing some of the apple green color to the table setting.
Waterford water goblets and Lenox wine glasses sit next to one another. You can’t go wrong with good crystal on the table.
The gold on the table picks-up the gold in the mirror on the wall and all the light is reflected and bounced around the room. Bronze candlesticks and handmade candles add some additional length to the centerpiece.

The white rims on the dessert plates reflect the white dinnerware in the china cabinet pulling the two elements together. Additional flowers and candles reside on the tea tray at the back of the dining room. The only thing missing are the guests. I hope they will enjoy sitting at this Fall table as they enjoy food and conversation with Friends.
