Don’t you just love all the Fall colors available at this time of year?
Welcome, Friends, to the Blog today. I’m using some of my favorite Fall china in today’s tablescape. Mikasa has some wonderful patterns and I have a fair amount of Mikasa china. I love when I get to bring this set out and use it during the Autumn.
I kept the table setting pretty simple as the colors seem to fill up the space. In addition to the Mikasa, Intaglio, for dinner and bread and butter plates I used a Noritake square salad/dessert plate with an orange border that spoke to me of the season. I like the contrast between the round dinner plate and the square salad plate. Makes it a bit more interesting.
The charger is from Hobby Lobby and is white with a rustic edge. The setting becomes a little less formal with the color and the vintage feel.
Each place setting has its own special pumpkin in the center of the plate. The different shades from yellow to green bring out the character in the Mikasa plates.
Napkins in a multi-colored harvest pattern sit on a bright, yellow and white, Pottery Barn placemat. The silver-plate is simple with some discreet flowers on the handles. Wrought iron napkin rings pick-up on the black border of the plates.
Seasonal flowers are used to create the centerpiece which sits in a hand thrown green dish. You can see how I made the centerpiece here:

Crystal glasses, one in blue and one clear sparkle on the table. I love the shape of the blue glasses from Block. I think the clear ones are a Mikasa pattern.
Here’s an overhead view showing all the colorful elements of this table setting.
It’s good to be aware of the other elements in the room as you put together a table setting. This photo looks toward the wall which is decorated for Autumn. The same colors found on the table are repeated on the display wall. You can see how this was put together here:

You always want to check to make sure your guests can see one another across the table. I usually sit at the table and look around to make sure. Sometimes I use a tall centerpiece but as long as you can see everyone it works.
The garden is visible through the windows and adds another element of color to this setting. It was an enjoyable one to put together……great colors, favorite china and a nice setting. As always pretty much everything is thrifted.
