Welcome to the Blog today, Friends. I’ve been finding a lot of blue and white china lately and this past week resulted in another great find. My local Thrift Store had this gorgeous set of china in blue, white and gold. The trend seems to be pricing everything individually. So each plate, bowl, saucer, etc. is priced separately. Sometimes that works for me and other times I would really prefer a price for the set. I can’t figure out how they choose which way to go on a particular set of china.

However, in this case, it worked out as I wasn’t interested in cups and saucers and was able to choose eight each of the dinner plates and the bread and butter plates. They didn’t have any salad plates.

I started the table setting with a dark blue round tablecloth. I topped that with a white lace tablecloth so the blue showed through setting the tone for a blue and white tablescape. Also, it’s nice to have a little lace from time to time.

The plate stack starts with a gold and silver glass charger, then a dinner plate in blue, white and gold, a plain white salad plate and a blue, white and gold bread and butter plate. Individual wooden puzzles top the plate stack. They make great conversation starters.

You can see the different pieces in the pictures above. The blue and white plates are by an American firm…..Lamberton…..and the pattern is “Puritan”. Mikasa’s Ultima is the salad plate.

An Opal Innocence by Lenox wine glass is paired with a Block water goblet whose stem is colored blue. The flower etchings on the Lenox glass are quite beautiful and are set off by the plain Block goblet in a lovely fluted shape.

Blue and white napkins are held in a fan pattern by Baldwin gold napkin rings. Gold and silver flatware in a simple flare pattern compliment the gold in the chargers and plates.

The centerpiece is very low and uses a blue multicolored hand thrown pottery plate to hold carpet balls in blue and white in three different designs. Simple but pretty.

Each place setting has a unique wooden puzzle toy to occupy the guests as they linger over coffee and dessert. They come in a set of four with directions (fortunately) on how to reassemble them. Everything on the table has been thrifted which makes it economical as well as pretty.

Here’s an overview of the table. Plenty of space for guests to spread out a bit and enjoy their space.

Looking across the table you can see the new WELCOME Wall Display. Some of the photos have the same blues and whites as the table setting. I think Friends and Family will enjoy eating and conversing together at this table.
