It’s a hot and humid day so a good one to be indoors checking out some recent Thrift Store finds. I do love taking a few dollars and stretching it finding some great buys for home decor. Welcome Friends to today’s Blog. It was a great week for dishware and linens.
You can see the great French inspired tablecloth in the picture above. I’d been looking for one for awhile so I was “tickled yellow” LOL when I found this one. Used it with some of the other finds to create this French-inspired table setting. You can check it out here. https://www.thriftingwonderland.com/post/french-inspired-table-setting
The second great tablecloth was in yellows and grays with bold flowers scattered over the surface. It’s next on my list to use for a table setting. Love those large statement flowers.
It was a great week for ceramic and porcelain dinnerware finds. First up was a set of four, Williams Sonoma, Tuscan, dessert/salad plates. I found bread dipping plates a few months ago in the same pattern. It’s nice to have a set as we serve Italian a lot to guests.
After not seeing any blue and white dishes for months there are suddenly blue and white dishes in the Thrift Stores. Found four Liberty Blue dinner plates in great condition. I’m already planning to use them next July 4th and maybe Labor Day.
Porcelain chargers have been in short supply until recently when I have run across some nice examples. This week I found four white bone china chargers by Fortessa. They look great with everything. Also found four Homer Laughlin chargers in white and black. Two are the Seville pattern and two are the Lyrica pattern. They will mix and match nicely on the table. Finally, found a set of beautiful blue and white dishes in a kind of modern flowered pattern that I have already used in a French table setting. The dishes are by Wood and Sons and the pattern is Gay Day.
These four Sherry glasses are in a very pretty cut glass pattern that blends with other crystal I have on hand. Haven’t identified the pattern yet but will be looking for it this week.
In addition to the two tablecloths I found some really nice towels this week. The ones in the first picture also have hand towels and there are four of the bath towels in the second picture. A brocade table runner in gold rounded out the linens this week.
A few odds and ends finished out the Thrift Store finds. Two leather boxes by Wolf Designs in California…..not sure what I’m going to do with them yet, a beautiful wooden bowl, some wildlife inspired Christmas decorations and blue and yellow napkin rings all found their way home with me.
Lastly, these fun dessert/salad plates from Pottery Barn joined the treasures this week. They were put together for TCM and represent four different Hollywood Movie Posters. You can see the one for “Singing in the Rain” in the picture. They’ll be fun to use in a light-hearted table setting. They came in a metal box representing a film reel.
That’s it for this week’s treasure hunt. Hope you have some success at your local stores.
