Hello Everyone and welcome to the blog today. We’re building burgers one recipe at a time and next up is Pickled Red Onions. This easy recipe makes a great topping for burgers both meet and vegetable. It adds a little bit of Zing to the meal without being overpowering.
Pickled Red Onions
One red onion, thinly sliced.
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup water
Juice from 1/2 lemon
2 tablespoons honey
1/2 teaspoon salt
Add cider vinegar, water, lemon juice, salt and honey to the sauce pan.
Place over low heat and bring to a simmer. Whisk until mixed. Bring to a low boil and then remove from heat.
Place sliced onions in a medium bowl.
Pour sauce mixture over onions, cover and set aside. If sauce does not cover onions add additional water until covered.
That’s it. Easy, peasy!
