Hello and welcome to the Blog today. It’s been a pretty good week at the Thrift Store and I managed to find a number of items that I’m sure I will use. Here is one overview shot and also the one below.
The background in this shot is a 90″ round blue tablecloth. Mostly I’m able to purchase tablecloths for about $2.25 a piece. It makes it easy to collect a rainbow of colors and shapes that I can use for my table settings.
I found several other tablecloths this week that I’ll show you below:
The first was a really nice 100% cotton white table cloth with embroidered diamonds by Dansk. I love 100% cotton and white. If there are any stains, it is very easy to bleach them out. This one was in great shape.
Then I found this really super Hallowe’en tablecloth from Pottery Barn. It’s black and white with an orange border. The graphics are really terrific with black cats, haunted houses, spooky trees and bats. A black candelabra will add to the Hallowe’en fun this October. This one looked as if it had never been used.
Next I found these really fun napkins that have fish floating over them in navy, blue and yellow.
These Royal Doulton plates: 4 dinner plates, 4 salad/dessert plates and 4 bread and butter plates came in a set with no chips, cracks or any other marks….beautiful and the plates were about 50 cents apiece.
Also found another set of Royal Doulton dinner and dessert plates in the Carmina pattern. These are really beautiful and depict lemons and olives on the dessert plate with a border of cloudy blue which is echoed in the center of the dinner plate. This is definitely a Tuscan theme but will go with lots of colors. These were a total of $3.25. They were on sale for 75% off. Can’t wait to use them in a tablescape
Used these beautiful polish handmade plates in this place setting. I think they look wonderful. Priced about the same as the others. You can see the complete table setting here: https://www.thriftingwonderland.com/post/blue-and-white-table-setting
Two sets of chargers found there way home with me this week. I have not actually found porcelain ones before so it was a bit odd to find two sets. They are very different in feel. I have already used the second ones in a table setting shown below. If you look at the table setting you will see flatware by Rogers Bros. in the Flair pattern. It was another find this week. Love how it looks on the table. Simple but elegant.

I found a few odds and ends that will go with different holiday events. Top left…..a set of 12 goblets depicting the 12 Days of Christmas. They are still in original box and packaging. Next a beautiful, quite heavy Art Deco tray. My daughter is moving into her own apartment so plan to give this to her with a Shannon Crystal decanter and glasses I picked up a few months ago. Next is a lead crystal turkey….pretty. Two Fitz and Floyd candlesticks in the popular St. Nicholas pattern found there way into my cart. Some Christmas picks for a dollar came home with me. Picks are getting to be quite expensive so I pick them up when I can. Also found a plastic crate with lid filled with ceramic pumpkins and Fall fruit. I enjoy using the ceramic pumpkins for Fall up to Thanksgiving. Thanks to this find I have a good selection of colors and sizes to use. Lastly, there was a Baked Brie Cheese holder with accompanying knife in a brand new, never opened package. It will make a great gift.
I think that’s it for this week. Hope you had as much fun thrifting as I did.
