Welcome everyone! I’m excited that you’re visiting today. I think I mentioned before that I teach a cooking class on Zoom and one of next week’s recipes is a homemade Manicotti and homemade sauce recipe by our guest chef and good friend Cornelia. In preparation for the class and the fact that Cornelia and her hubby were staying for dinner, I put this table setting together. I have to say that the Manicotti was absolutely delicious.

I wanted to keep things fairly simple and open but happy with some Spring colors. The placemats were infused with Spring colors and a nod to the Italian flag. The Villeroy & Boch dinnerware with the wavy pattern seemed a good start to the plate stack. Salad was being served as an accompaniment to the meal so I used the matching white salad plate and rested it on a Pier 1, colorful, dessert plate called Verona.

You can see the very vibrant plates depicting different fruits. They feel exuberant and very Italian.

The flatware is by Holmes and Edward and is their Jubilee pattern. The pattern is quite attractive and also has a sense of exuberance to it.

Napkins in the same color family were used with the napkin ring also picking up the linen colors. I don’t usually go with matched sets but it seemed to work well in this setting.

The glasses are hand blown and echo the green in the table and in the table linens.

A simple centerpiece of a few flowers in the dominant colors in the table setting are gathered together in a casual bouquet. A cut crystal pitcher was used to hold the flowers and low cut crystal candlesticks with pink candles flank the flowers on either side.

The white background provided by the dishes will allow the food to really shine.

Everything used in this table setting was obtained at Thrift stores. I really love being able to put a pretty table together for a minimal cost. It’s probably why I keep thrifting and looking for those home decor treasures.
