Welcome everyone. I hope all your preparations are finished and you are sitting beside the fire with a hot cup of chocolate enjoying these special days. Our Anniversary comes right before Christmas so I try to set a really special table around that time. Most years we go out for dinner at a favorite restaurant but this is not most years. We stayed home this year and celebrated safely with a really special dinner and time together.
This table setting started with a lovely embroidered tablecloth and a great centerpiece. The gorgeous crystal bark ring was a recent find and then I made the floral addition from greens from the yard and a few grocery store flowers. Turned out quite nice.
I used gold and silver placemats as the base for the plate stack. Noritake’s Christmas Ball china was used for the dinner and bread and butter plate. Noritake’s Royal Hunt was the dessert plate and the middle plate in the stack. Love both of these patterns and they went well together bringing a little Christmas color to the table. The Christmas Ball plates were a recent find at the Hospice Thrift store. I will be keeping my eye out for more of them. The gold patterning is just beautiful.
The crystal was two different patterns. The first is Lenox Opal Innocence and I started collecting it after a great thrift store find in that pattern. The champagne flute is part of the Waterford 12 Days of Christmas Series. I found the final pieces this year and now have a complete set of 12. This one is 8 Maids a’Milking. They are very heavy pieces and I only bring them out at Christmas and use them until Epiphany. They are just gorgeous.
For Christmas and other special occasions I love to use my sterling silver, Rose Point, by Wallace. It brings back memories of my Grandmother and looks so beautiful polished and reflecting the light. I use my good things much more now. Why not. I love them and the next generation doesn’t seem as interested in tableware that has to be “taken care of”.
So, that’s it, our anniversary table setting. I can share with you that we had an outstanding dinner and a lovely anniversary.
