Welcome everyone. During such a busy season I’m especially happy that you stopped by. Today’s tablescape is based on three angels I found at Goodwill back in September. They are quite beautiful in their red, blue and gold attire. Two of the angels are playing harps and one has a trumpet ready to announce the birth of the Christ child. They were about $3.50 each.
Each of the angels has golden wings and clothing encrusted with jewels, pearls and gold and silver. Their peaceful faces promise goodness and light to all who might hear them.
Mercury candlesticks with white candles add to the celestial atmosphere of the table setting. The candlesticks and candles were found in a consignment shop and sold for about $12.00 with the candles. The angels rest on a silver and white table runner on top of a midnight blue table cloth both of which were thrifted from Miracle Hill Thrift Store.
You can see the sparkling silver jingle bell napkin rings with lace edged napkins. Both were thrifted …. the napkin rings in the past couple of weeks. There were 8 napkin rings which were very tarnished but came back beautifully with a little silver polish. They were under $4.00.
Sparkly ribbon is wound through the angels and the candlesticks. Silver and gold votives are placed along the runner lighting the way for those hear the angel’s song. The votives were thrifted and came in an unopened, brand new package.
Crystal trees sit on silver-edged bread and butter plates. The plates are Franciscan and were thrifted at Goodwill. They look brand new with no knife cuts on the plates. Beautiful silver plate flatware compliments the setting. A matching silver-edged dinner plate is the base of the plate stack picking up the silver in the flatware and the angel’s gowns. The Star of Bethlehem adorns the salad plate and guides the shepherds to the baby. The plates came from the Humane Society Thrift Store. Silver and gold flagons will hold the water or wine for the meal and came from Goodwill in a set of 8.
The blues, silvers and golds work well to give a serene feel to this tablescape.
This simple but elegant tablescape sets the tone for a lovely Christmas dinner. Love how this one turned out, all because of three angels.
