Put this together the other day and I liked it so much I thought I would share it with you. I’m using mostly thrifted items to create this casual Fall tablescape. It was an everyday dinner…. why not kick it up a notch by using some of the tableware I have put away for “special”. What is more “special” than sharing a meal with a loved one.

So I’m going to build this one for you exactly the way I did it for our dinner.

The first picture is the blank thrifted table that we have in our Morning Room. Then I added three thrifted place mats, two for the place settings and one for the centerpiece. This anchors the space. Next I added a thrifted birch bark cornucopia. I’ve been collecting small porcelain pumpkins and gourds this year, just when I run across them in thrift stores. I added some of these to the cornucopia and had them spill out onto the table. The next step was adding two thrifted pine cone candlesticks to the table.

Next came Mikasa, Park Lane, crystal (thrifted) and some thrifted stainless steel flatware. I kept the pattern simple in keeping with the lighter mood of the tablescape. I added thrifted napkins that will pick up the colors in the pottery plates.

The plate stack was partially found at thrift stores. The tree plates are from a North Carolina potter that I like, Janet Resnik. The pottery plate in the center was thrifted. It really works well to separate the two tree plates and border the bread and butter plate. Love how this looks.

This is how the whole thing came together in this really simple but colorful and seasonal Fall tablescape. We really enjoyed eating our meal at this table.

The message here is to encourage you to take out your “good” stuff and enjoy it. It’s a great way to lift your mood and make your meals a more pleasant experience.
