Thrifting isn’t always about the big finds. Sometimes the smaller things can be just as much fun and useful besides. Yesterday we brought home some Italian Espresso Makers. These are widely used in Italy and are the stove top answer to complicated Espresso machines. They are easy to use and make great Espresso.
Also found this vintage butter curler. You know — those really cute little individual curls of butter that are such a pretty addition to a formal or informal table setting — this is how you make them. I had to ask what it was as I had not seen a butter curler before. Can’t wait to try it. Apparently you draw the blade along the top of a stick of butter and it loops over the top to form a curl. I’ll let you know how it works.
I’m always on the lookout for pretty white plates. Found these three Kate Spade Oakwilde Lane plates by Lenox for about $1.50 a piece. Couldn’t resist.
Also found these plain white linen napkins. There were ten in the group for $2.50 and all in unstained condition. You can never have too many white linen napkins.
No big finds but some useful additions to our household items.
